I'll go out on a limb and say that you'll see a side of mostly reserves for FC when they suit up in Houston. Most if not all of their stars will take a break after a grueling WC.

I doubt it. The final is July 9th meaning that everyone will have at least a month to rest and most will have between 5-6 weeks if they get knocked out in group stage or early in the knockout round. Some top players like Eto'o aren't even going to Germany. That coupled with the fact that La Liga generally starts in late August (and it takes a while to get match fit after a month off), I think you'll see a full squad come over...

...but I could see some of those stars playing games 1 and 3 and resting game 2. But I think you'll see close to a full squad come over.

So why doesn't Dynamo play FCB? Is the MLS chicken? How does this promote Houston's team? So basically, you'll have a bunch of people that want to see Club America and FCB and then force them to buy a ticket for Dynamo as well?

to answer your question...no, you are not forced to buy a Dynamo ticket. we are not even sure if we are going to play a double header. Trust me, the Dynamo would love to play FCB. It was arranged that in LA and Houston they would play a Mexican club and in NY they are playing Red Bull NY.

Randy, come on..of course the MLS is not chicken, LA played Real Madrid last year when they toured...and I think Chicago played one of the European teams too. And if you read the press release, this tour is also for promoting FCB here in the US..so they would of course want to play a big name like Club America (especially with the turnout they will get in Houston with that matchup). I wish they would play more MLS teams, but I think just the chance to get to see a team like FCB here in the States is a great opportunity.

I like other Mexican league teams far more than Club America, but I've seen America play several times in Houston already. And I'd jump at the chance to see them play Barcelona.

America is the Dallas Cowboys of the USA (sort of) most Mexicans either hate the club or love it. You either love Chivas or love America.

Simple as that. Both clubs are the clubs in Mexico.

Actually, you're right. I love Chivas...comes from the summer I spent in Guadalajara. Also a big fan of Cruz Azul.

I just think that MLS should be promoting their product anytime they can. It's silly for them to enter a partnership with FCB and then have only one MLS club play them. I really don't see how it benefits Dynamo, from an exposure standpoint, for them to host a game between a Mexican league team and FCB.

maybe just to get people more interested in soccer?

Because it's a doubleheader with a Dynamo game.

Don't forget that outside of Europe, the Mexican league imports a lot of good South American players (Brasil, Argentina, etc.....)

Now, I am not saying that the quality is the same by any means............but they aren't spares either.

When it comes to soccer, Mexico pays the top players pretty freaking good.

I am at a bind for this game. Parents are from Barcelona, as well as my whole family but I grew up in Mexico rooting for...........you guest it "America".

So, I hope America wins.........not that it will make that big of a difference since the players from Barca will be thinking about site seeing and all..........

no...right now, the only way to get them is if you are a current full or mini season ticket holder, same goes for the texans database, next to be offered are NEW Dynamo 5 or 10 or full season ticket buyers, then it goes to a general sale but those will all be seats way up top.

the way to get the best seats, is to become a Dynamo ticket holder, then this game comes with that package
