So, I'm casually checking my e-mail at work today when I see a subject heading "2006 World Cup Ticket Order Confirmation and Summary"

I'm thinking "This has to be some kind of mistake" but I click on the e-mail and sure enough, I have a ticket to the opening game vs. the Czech Republic. Didn't get any of the other games but I don't care...I had given up hope of getting any. Besides, it would have been hard to get away for very long but I think I can pull off a 4 day jaunt to Germany.

I've used my connections to get a prety sweet deal on a flight to Dusseldorf...now I just need to find some reasonable accomodations. And I don't know if even my connections will be good enough for that but we shall see.
