We're gaining ground in the "minor" sports- track, golf, tennis, etc. Basketball took a major leap this year in both men's and women. Football and baseball, well... I'm still waiting. I think we're on the right track.

They pay better.

When you have all the money in the world, nice facilites and you're totally bullet-proof and invisible with the NCAA, it would take a pretty sorry run organization not to be the best in everything (which they pretty much were until Dodds got there).

I predict both women's track and field and women's swimming/diving teams take texas off of their conference thrones next year.

As Ive said in other, posts we just cant compete with tu. Its a fact and a hard one to swallow. No matter how well Byrne does, they have a huge head start we cant catch up to. We will never have as much money, as nice facilities as good coaches or athletes. This is why I say we need to end the Lone Star Showdown we CAN NOT win it, it is physically impossible for us to win it. Look at this years score: 5 to 14 PATHETIC and only a one point improvement over last year. We will never ever ever even break the 7 point margin, they are just too well funded and supported and our alums wll NEVER step up and fund us the way their alums fund tus athletics. Theyve cornered ther market on athletics in Texas and will NEVER let go. We just cant compete with them.
