Lalas and the Galaxy fired Sampson. I think a team would have to have a front office full of idiots to hire this clown.

they won both mls titles last year but he also had LD so its really easy...just get him the damn ball. Personally, I always thought sampson was worthless and his mis management of the 1998 world cup team set soccer back in the united states for about four years. If it wasnt for our run in 2002 we may still be feeling the sting of 1998.

If any of yall listen to the soccer hour in houston you might have heard lalas' interview a few weeks ago where he said that in 1998 sampson didnt let them see their families and it made them homesick and nervous which was partly responsible for our collapse.

Sampson lucked into the double last year with Donovan. I think he is the biggest POS and hope he never coaches again. What he did to US Soccer truly did set us back. Especially when we were riding the momentum of an upstart professional league and hosting the world cup. His '98 performance is one of the worst coaching jobs of all time in all of sport.

He's arrogant and not nearly as good as he thinks he is. I wouldn't hire him, but I'm sure he'll land SOMEWHERE in the soccer world.

Yep, Sampson in 1998 was a disgrace. Even before we stunk it up for three games, he was being castigated. He squandered our momentum from WC '94. He played lots of games and politics with players and roster spots. We had a decent core of good prime-age players, some experienced veterans, and young talent and he turned it into a lackluster turd.
