I feel it will be somebody from England tho, they are pretty stacked and I have a good feeling about them and this Cup. The only thing against them is their recent history.

Enigma, I'm not asking you to tell me who will win it after they win it. I'm trying to get predictions before everything gets going, although Klose has put a dent in the plans.

I'm at least glad to know that there are some people that know of the superstars around the world, but most of those are midfielders that score on free kicks, set pieces or long, unexpected shots.

The one person that I'm leaning towards that no one even hinted towards is Thierry Henry. Since you noted a lot of notable EPL players, I'm just surprised he was overlooked because Henry is seriously disgusting when he's locked in.

Two other players that I thought are worthy of mention are Lionel Messi and Hernan Crespo of Argentina. Both are great goal scorers and the fact that I think Argentina's going deep in the tournament gives them an easy edge.

I hope Henry wins it since he's my favorite player, and he definately has a chance, but I find it unlikely because 1) he has a tendency to not score in big games (he still hasn't scored in a Cup final for Arsenal) and 2) France often don't let him play the way he plays for Arsenal.

He definately has the ability to win the Golden Boot though. If I had to pick, I'd probably say him, just being hopeful more than anything else.

ok ok ok, I was going to wait till the end of group play but since you are pressuring me I will give. Assuming he comes back to match fitness and gets significant playing time Im going with Wayne Rooney. England has a pretty good draw in their group (Paraguay, T and T, and Sweden), I think Rooney should be able to work some magic in this group and then depending on how the rest works out their toughest compitition could be Brazil to get to the finals.
