Tons of talent comes out of Texas and should get more consideration at the U-17 level. That is one of my knocks on Arena (Bronxian).

Where did he get his soccer skills? They do not have the competitive soccer leagues in east Texas as they do in the Dallas area.

I believe he travelled to play for a dallas team...we had some players from wichita play with us..

most overrated player ever. he is good, no doubt, but a lot of people see him as the salvation of US soccer. He will turn out like donovan in 4 years, and everyone will pick someone new to get excited about.

Clint is and will be a better player then Landycakes. He has a few things that Landon will never have; courage, drive, intensity, and heart. Landon lacks all of those things.

I agree he isn't the saviour for USMNT, but at least he will motivate other players around him to play harder and with confidence. AND, he is only going to be getting better. He'll hopefully play in Europe, and will continue to strive to get better at his game.

I think that is the key to him being what Landon isnt...he needs to go to europe and succeed. We cant win if our great young players dont ever get better...The competition in the MLS can only do so much for a player. Look at Convey, he was an ok player when he left and look at his confidence and ball skills now. Although, I have no idea what happened to Beasley...he is actually on the bench now at PSV. Something went wrong with him recently, he was an up and coming star with them and all of a sudden it fell apart.

tell me this was not EVERYONES opinion of landon donovan after the last world cup. he was exactly this player. landon played a lot like clint in the last world cup. showing up in the right place at the right time, playing very aggressively, very confidently...give it four years and some new stud to come along, and you will all see

and just to clarify, I do like watching clint play. i think he is entertaining, and a very good player. i just get tired of everyone talking about him constantly like he is a god. I honestly hope that he grows into an outstanding player, i just dont see it happening without some success in Europe (as posted above).
