Let's hope. The disparity in talent between the MLS and the best clubs in Europe just seems like it keeps growing. Maybe it's just watching the world's best the last few weeks, then watching an MLS game that is altering my perspective(but I tend to think that's not the case). The MLS is where the once great players from around the world go to finish their careers. The US has to farm out their players better or the MLS is gonna have to improve by leaps and bounds. The former is much more likely and feasible.

i completely agree with our guys needing to go to europe, but they were talking to lalas (who is in the galaxy front office and biased) and he pointed out that the last 2 cups, the stand out guys, dismissing friedel, were domestic based players.
2002
donovan - san jose
beasley - chi
2006
dempsey - NE
(and he said jimmy conrad, i dont really know why)

Lalas must have forgotten that Onyewu, Bocanegra, and Cherundolo all play overseas.

all you have to know about the mls is that one of the best players in the world(i just blanked on his name) said no to over a 100 mil to come play here. he said he would come to the mls when he gets older and his career is slwing down. mmmm i wonder why. kind of like when valderama and etcheverry used to play here and move like ten yards either way. never ran but still looked better than 90% of the players

It was Ronaldo and he never said that he would "come to the mls when he gets older and his career is slwing down". He simply said the idea of playing in the US was intriguing but he wanted to stay in Europe for now in the one of the elite leagues.

So essentially, he proved that MLS isn't an elite league. Not exactly ground-breaking information there.

i know its not. i hate it. the only reason i watch some games is when there is absolutely nothing on. and i know some players in the league i love watching the premiership. could you imagine any usa athlete turning down over a 100 million dollars to play for the worst team in any league. i cant think of one that would turn that down. but his statement does remind me of valderama and etchevery. i laughed everytime i watched them play in the mls. it was hilarious.

You should watch the dynamo, with brian ching back they will play an entertaining brand of attacking soccer. DeRo is fun to watch with the ball at his feet when he is running at the D and the Brian Mullan/Brad Davis to Brian Ching combos are fantastic.

Note: I wish we could just get the spirit of DeRO into Landon Donovan and he would be one hell of a player for the US!

ive watched every team. like i said i will watch it when nothing else is on. its not entertaining soccer compared to any international league.

I think Convey's development has more to do with him turning 20 years old than playing in Europe.

I doubt he would have as much confidence as he does at this age if he had played in the MLS

ya i know...i guess i just wasnt very clear...when convey left DC United he was still extremely raw...he had the obvious talent but he wasnt living up to his potential. He came back from Redding and all of a sudden he has this confidence and swagger about him that very few american players have...I think it was the result of playing at a higher level in england and playing extremely well. He was one of the main reasons Redding got promoted, that did wonders for his confidence
