Id thought Id start a thread for people who like watching the euro leagues..the transfer market is about to explode with the end of the world cup and the selling off of juventus and possibly A.C. Milan.

It looks as though Real Madrid is trying to dip their ink into just about every well right now and im sure chelsea has one or two more outrageous bids left in them. I hope ribbery replaces ronaldo at Man U. They wont really lose a step between those two althought Arsenal fans are trying to push the Henry-Ribbery friendship. It would also be bad ass if an English team could pick up Torres from Atletico, there was some talk of this earlier.

So far my favorite signing has been Bellamy to Liverpool. That could be really big.

So far, ManU looks to lose Ronaldo, RVN, and now Heinze as Real Madrid supposedly have made an offer of 10 million pounds. Their roster needed strengthening even before those losses. If they all go through, Mr. Glazer will have to open the purse strings or else his investment will fall further behind Chelsea.

So far it looks like Real Madrid have put in offers for everyone. I've heard C. Ronaldo, Ribbery, RVN, Heinze, Canavarro and a lot of other marquis players all be rumored to go there.

In regards to the Italian players, I wouldn't expect any of them to leave their clubs. The same corruption that started the whole match fixing scandal will now keep them from being relegated for doing so.

Buffon to Arsenal has been floated around but not sure what you'd do with lehmann. Personally I think someone in Europe should try and jump on the Carlos Tevez train (I'm sure Chelsea will try).

This is old news but I'm sure the two biggest moves will be Ballack and Sheva, I'm so mad that now I have to hate these players cause they were two of the few superstars that I liked.

Didnt even think about that, but you're right. I just hope they can find a new striker (Iaquinta?).

Current rumors:
Carrick to Man U

Chelsea or Real Madrid signing the entire Italian backline

Arsenal still hunting Saviola

ManU needs some creative central midfielders. Of course you could replace the ManU part with just about any other club. There are not many of those growing on trees.

Arsenal really need to focus on defense. With Henry, Adebayor, van persie, ljungberg, Rosicky, Reyes, and Walcott they have a strong attacking field of players. with sol leaving they need to pick up a solid defender, or maybe defensive mid (echoes of a Viera return?). We'll see how far they chase the likes of Ribery and Saviola, but I really think they should shore up the defense.

ManUnited loses RVN and will probably lose Ronaldo(Ribery would be a great replacement). But I just cant see them letting go of Heinze. The backline play dropped severly when he went down and really started to pickup when he came back late in the season. the guy is a phenomenal defender and they would be psycho to let him go for "only" 10mil.

There is a rumor about possibly bring over Iker Casillias (since supposedly Real wants to go after Buffon), but i dont see that happening with Van der Sar still prime and with the 30-something million asking fee. i think they are going after the young West Brom keeper (Kuszczak?) to groom b/c they have all but given up on Timmy Howard.

The midfielders Im reading about, and would love to see in a Reds kit, are Pirlo and Gatusso. The other loud rumor is Owen Hargreaves from Bayern. Gatusso is another Roy Keane and Hargreaves really impressed me during the World Cup and said he would like to return to England for one of the "top clubs".

If/When RVN is sold off they will need another striker to pair with Rooney (although Saha really came on late in the season). Sir Alex said he wants at least 4 capable strikers so hopefully Alan Smith comes back from injury and that doesnt become a dire need (Torres would be fantastic but they are going to have to break the bank to pry him away from Chelsea and Real)

Hargreaves is more of a defensive holder is he not? I think they need someone offensive minded in the midfield position, someon like Lampard of Gerrard. I know that Lampard is not leaving Chelsea and it is not likely Gerrard is going to leave Liverpool for ManU.

I think Ribery is a better fit for Man U than Arsenal, despite the Henry connection. Arsenal needs D.

Having said that, I just bought my away Ribery jersey. SAWEEEEET.

half of me does not want to post this because of what happens with any cristiano ronaldo related thread but im going to post this and hope that this thread doesnt get hijacked but...

Man U said today that there is "no possiblity" of them selling Ronaldo

http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/5778920

if they dont sell him they really dont need ribbery, hargreaves would be a great pick up...i dont get to watch him alot but he is a quality player. The best rumor i heard about Man U was before the world cup and it had them chasing riquelme...that would be bad ass but it wont happen
HummingbirdSaltalamacchia

i heard the Riquelme rumor as well but didnt post it b/c i think its one of the many outlandish and improbable rumors that come out during this time of year. ManU is still like the NY Yankees in that every off-season, no matter who the player, they are rumored to team a, team b, and the yankees/manchester united. real madrid, and chelsea are like that too, probably even moreso now considering their propensity for big spending.

Ronaldo i think will still get moved. I remember ManU calling Becks untouchable, and then they sold him off to Real not too long after that.o bviously if you see someone like a Ribery come in, then Ronaldo will probably be gone. Gill and Ferguson wont sell off Ronaldo without someone else in place unless they get offered an outlandish sum IMO.

Still, the need is in the offensive midfield instead of the back 4 unless one considers that Neville is getting up there in age. ManU is strong in the back 4, good on the side mids, and has an awesome collection of strikers. They need to covet strong offensive middle guys.

Cannavarro is apparently headed to Real Madrid...that might be the first big transfer due to the match fixing scandels...also Liverpool is looking at David Trezuget which would be a big move for a team that couldnt get any scoring from their strikers last year

Damn, I was hoping Ruud would stay in the EPL. Best case for me would be to have Liverpool pick him up, but I know it'll never happen.
HummingbirdSaltalamacchia

IMO Ruud ends up at Bayern. I think they might be desperate to land a big name after losing Ballack to chelsea. I think ManU is going to press hard for Torres from Atletico Madrid but im still not optimistic about landing him. ANother name being tossed around now is Cannavaro from Juventus and Patrick Vieira.

Henize and Ronaldo will stay put at OT. I think the concern over Ronaldo is that he is worried about a hate mob, but Sir Alex will protect him just like they did Beckham when he got the infamous red card vs. Argentina.

My only concern is the lack of talk about a play-making midfielder. seems to be a lot of talk about defenders and strikers but ManU's biggest weakness was midfield play. Carrick would be a great add but im pretty pesimistic about that as well.

Supposedly, Carrick to ManU is imminent and ManU are in the hunt for Viera. If they can pull off both signings, their midfield will be drastically improved. I don't see Torres leaving Spain. He doesn't seem to willing to move.

They will take every opportunity to be little the American team, players, league and future prospects. To which your response is, my God, you sound exactly like the French."

i doubt as well that Torres leaves madrid, but the coach sounds pesimistic that he will still be there acording to a recent interview. Torres' agent is saying he will be in pre-season training but that just sounds like typical "agent-speak" in order drive up the asking price.

And Dre i hope you're right about Carrick to OT being imminent. he would be a great midfield addition.

But Chelsea will also pull off another major surprise by signing Brazilian veteran Carlos - partly as a treat for Roman Abramovich's 12-year-old son.

Real Madrid star Carlos, 33, is Arkady Abramovich's favourite player and is also seen as a big enough name on the world stage to expand Chelsea's global market.

Buying for the amusement of 12 year olds? And I can't really see Roberto Carlos happy being Cole's back up.

On the bandwagon since birth. Raised in the bleachers of Kyle, Olsen, and G. Rollie White

I don't know if anybody saw this but our youth national team players have been getting noticed. 17 year old Neven Subotic, a 6'3" defender, accepted a 4 year offer from Bundesliga side Mainz and 18 year old Johnathan Villanueva, a central mid from Dallas, is on trial with Ajax right now.

glad to see our youngsters getting opportunities in Europe(on a side note, god how i wish Rossi at ManU would play for the US team)

R. Carlos to chelsea huh? not sure if that scares me. it certainly weakens their D whenever he plays.

In other news the RVN saga is still being played out. Looks like its Real Madrid only unless some other club comes in with a 15mil+ offer. ManU is standing firm on their 15mil price tage while Real is trying to get some crap 12 mil deal with payments and incentives done. If not, looks like he goes back to Manchester to face Sir Alex.

Bayern say they still want Ruud but will only be willing to match what Real Madrid offers. But they may try to send Hargreaves ManYoo's way and throw in some cash.

Newcastle is also in the middle of a really good move. They are about to land Damien Duff from chelsea. This should help them out big time because owen may not see the field for a while.

Yeah, Duff is one of my Chelsea favorites, but I'm happy he's going to get some real playing time with Newcastle. Newcastle plans to make at least one more big move, so they really might be improved.
