The termination of TCUs tennis coach reminds me of a Paul Harvey monikor. Stay tuned for "the rest of the story".
I would assume Cory has the story from Joey and those surrounding the program. However, there are almost always things that those of us who follow college tennis never know.
For example, politics might be involved due to recent NCAA issues in the track and field program. However, compliance depts at many universities have become zealous to the point of using Gustapo like tactics when dealing with anything or anyone they might have issues with.
Note to college coaches...don't tick off compliance!!!!!!!
TCU is no different than any school. They don't want bad press. You throw in an Associate A.D. with an axe to grind or someone in the office that plain doesn't like you and "boda bing, boda boom" the first time you go over the line it gets you a one way ticket on tha see ya train.
Joey is no bad guy here. From those I have spoken with this is really secondary violation territory. Should of been a reprimand and a slap on the wrist with a don't do this again type of warning. However, my suspicion is that he had an enemy in the athletic department. My guess is an associate athletic director or someone who didnt like him. Just speculation on my part...
Recommendation!!!!!
Just knock the dust off your feet Joey, there are jobs better than TCU. Hey, look what using the phone to much got Kelvin Samson!!!!!
