GAME WINNING GOAL IN THE 93RD MINUTE!!!

Abe Thompson scored in the 93rd minute to win it 1-0! 3 points on the road and with Houston's tie we pull ahead from them even further.

But Houston still holds the cannon and will at the end of the year

to top it off, we are going to win the MLS cup in YOUR house.

bk, I went to my first Dynamo game last night. I was pretty impressed with the atmosphere, except the "bull s***" chant and the wave - I hate the wave. At least the weather at the game was great, after a truly horrid drive from CS.

That said, go FC Dallas!

On the bandwagon since birth. Raised in the bleachers of Kyle, Olsen, and G. Rollie White

Looks like Dallas just keeps rolling.

Question: When did they stop being the Burn? Have they switched ownership (maybe several times) in the past 8 years, or so?

'83-

I too was at the game last night. I love the "Chant" as you call it. My first expience of futbol came in South America, Ireland and Mexico, so I would find a professional game odd with out it.

I was curious how the American fan would take it. It is probably very annoying if you have never been exposed to it.

Back to FC Dallas, glad they are doing well, it will make August interesting.

They changed their name before the beginning of last year for a number of reasons...moving into new stadium, Burn was a horrible name and wanted something more traditional etc.

As for the Dynamo game last night, it's a shame that the rain keeps showing up right at gametime...completely kills the walk-ip crowd which if I'm not mistaken, is pretty sustantial generally. FWIW, if you don't like the "bull****" chant then don't sit next to 213...you'll hear words a lot worse than that if you are closeby.

At halftime we moved from our mid-field seats to Section 212 so that we could not only hear the chants, but to also feel them.

Then there was some great action right in front of us. The three shots on goal in the one attack with the last shot by Ching bouncing off the top bar was really awesome. Ching's should have gone in.

My daughter is hooked, we will be driving an hour and a half again this weekend to watch the game.

I've been to a game in England and watched games from several countries on TV, so I know what goes on with their chanting. I just don't think it fits in the MLS who are trying to grow a fan base, and the youth soccer teams in the US are one of the prime targets. The chants certainly don't bother me any, I just know I was sitting near a lot of kids the other night.

Agree with the second part, don't agree with the first. Right now, MLS needs every type of soccer fan to grow it's fanbase, not just the youth soccer teams or the diehards. If it ever gets to the point where demand for the game is so high that they are turning people away, then they can start picking the type of fan they want but $15 from a soccer mom is the same as $15 from a 20 something who likes to throw around four letter words. They can get them all if they are smart about it.

That's cool...I only mentioned it because many people who come to the game for the first time don't realize that 213 can be R rated at times...actually it's R rated most of the time. That leads to problems when a family with small children, or someone who is bothered by that language sits in 212.

That's great to hear. Here's hoping you don't have to dodge lightning bolts again to get there.

trust me, We at the Dynamo know to seat the youth clubs and familys on the other side of the stadium.

with that being said, if we didn't have people liek Dre and the Texian army, the place wuold be dead. They bring a bunch of atmosphere to the game and I know the players love it.

Killer K 89,

I hope the weather is good for you this weekend. So far this game is a bit of a dog as it is just before school starting, no big promotions going on, just a quality soccer match with a Hot NY team. Glad you are coming back.

bknetag,

I wish DC United was a different day than the tech game Sept 30. I have tickets to both. Maybe A&M-tech will be picked up earlier in the day and we can make it down in time for the game at Robertson.
