Is there going to be radio or coverage for this game, there's a lot of hype surrounding the aggie soccer team, I was just wondering what yall thought about the game tommorow

There doesnt seem to be any announcement of radio coverage -- probably since it is an exhibition and not a lot of students are in town. I'll keep looking. It should be a great first game.

Sad as it is to say, the Rice goalie actually was playing very well...she had some highlight reel saves, or else the Ags would have been in double digits. She had absolutely no chance against the onslaught she faced all night. Rice was completely out-manned (out-girled?).

This was a very good pre-season soccer game against a good opponent. RICE might be a better team than every BIG 12 team except the Aggies, cornhuskers, and sips.

This will be a down year for BIG 12 soccer – too many below average teams and extremely weak teams (Baylor and TTU being the weakest).

RICE may not be ranked in the Top 25 anytime this season, but they are definitely a respectable team.

Now see how we do against Ohio State. They may not be a Top 25 team either but they will probably finish in the top half of the Big 10.

Then bring on the baby blue tarheels.

Where is freshman Whitney Hooper, forward from Houston? She was our top incoming recruit. She and freshman Cydne Currie could have become an unstoppable pair of forwards during their years at Aggieland.

and yes i thought it sucked that they were charging for the exhibition, but they did have print outs of the roster and it was staffed like a real game

I'm sad I couldn't make it to the first exhibition of the year, I'm not one to make a habit of missing games. Unfortunately I graduated and left Aggieland. I look forward to making it to the rest of the games, especially UNC.

I was interested to hear how our GKs did, particularly Kristen since she's the new face. But having only one SOG really limits that... Nonetheless it seems our defense stood strong the whole time. Does anyone have any commentary on the game?

I was at the game and the Ags looked good. Rice played with a lot of freshmen, so they were definitely weaker, but A&M was still the best team by far. I liked the field presence of the Freshman GK even though she was not tested. Defense looked strong for the most part. Attacked well out of the back (Stephens put a couple of good balls through) though at times we just kicked the ball too much. Burnett looks like she is still trying to recover from her injury. Freshman Ketchum played ok. Robinson and Berend had a commanding presence in the midfield. Freshman Gnatzig held her own and seemed more comfortable as the game progressed. Kat played with a knee brace. Not sure what's wrong, but she was missing a little of the usual zip. Forwards all did well, but I was most impressed with Elizabeth Jones and Cydne Currie. They could be two additions that take this program to the next level.

According to someone who's a fan of Kat's (stalker)...she's had a knee brace for a while now

I think Coach G said last week on the radio that Whitney Hooper was having trouble getting into school (might be the Clearinghouse).

Was at the game last night and we looked very good. It's hard to tell exactly how good because Rice didn't look very competitive, but it was definitely a clinic for us.

Honestly I thought Emily Peterson was the best player on the field; she's so fundamentally sound you never see her make a mistake. It's really amazing how good she is on defense. At midfield E.J. looks very impressive and I think will be the leader there shortly. Offensively we have a lot of weapons, but I think Cydnie Currie is going to be an absolute star for the next 4 years. Wow is she good. She was all over the field beating every player to the ball and is very dangerous in the open field. She had a great shot on goal that was barely saved by the Rice keeper. I couldn't believe she was that good coming off an ACL injury last year.

I think Aggie fans can prepare themselves for a very special team this year. One that will almost certainly make the Elite 8, probably the Final Four. Our preseason #14 ranking is an absolute joke. I would put us no lower than #4 right now, behind only UCLA, Notre Dame, and Santa Clara.

Yes, E.J. is Elizabeth Jones, who transferred from Kentucky. She is very talented.

wow, #4? really? We've never had that huge win to put us over the top though. I hope you're right.

how about Cydnie's sister - didn't see her name on the game roster

Paige did start as one of the 3 midfielders and EJ was playing forward. They were running a 4-3-3 formation. Natalie Currie played but obviously did not make the splash Cydne made.
