After the Gooners and Scousers not getting off to a good start this is good for ManU to come out strong. I thought Fulham was supposed to be improved this year. Guess not.

Thus far Rooney with two goals. Good start to the season before be does his three match ban.

Yep, title will be effectively wrapped up in about an hour.

On the bandwagon since birth. Raised in the bleachers of Kyle, Olsen, and G. Rollie White

ManU?

We wonder why the Manchurians hate other supporters.

Rooney shows off today and two own goals, definitely an exciting game. Hopefully Chelsea will implode at some point cause I don't see anybody stopping them.

Costly play by Rooney though, as he received a 3 game ban by the FA for a Red Card received against FC Porto in a preseason friendly. It appears the ban will begin next match.

Rooney will be a scoring machine this season and i think many people will be surprised at Saha's form. i dont think we will miss RVN near as much as people think.

As far as the Fulham match went, i saw that Ole Gunnar got in. how did he look? he was methodical and deadly when he was healthy a few years ago. if he's ready to go then i think our strikers will be fine, and with hopefully adding Owen Hargreaves, could give chelsea a run for their money.

Also, Alan Smith is moving to his favorite position as stiker. He was really good when he played for Leeds, and I think he's gonna play a big part this season.

good point. totally forgot about Smith, who from all reports is really coming back strong after that ugly injury. he might actually get to play in the first team when rooney/scholes are serving their suspension.

I never could understand the Smith signing. On looking at the team ManU has a wealth of strikers but lacks midfielders. If they can sign another top notch central midfielder then watch out. They could take Chelsea down.

I think he was signed on the cheap from Leeds because they we're getting relegated. The intent was to convert him into Roy Keane's replacement in midfield, mainly beacuse of his tenacity.

Yeah, I remember the reasoning but I am not so sure it was sound. Of course when they signed him I was all for it. At the time Smith was playing for the England international team.

What about Rossi? Kid scored 30 goals in 30 games for the reserves last year and had some good performances in the limited 1st team appearances he made. I'd put him in over Ole as Rossi has actually played in the last 2 years.

Looks like Ronaldo and Rooney have kissed and made up.

Rossi is going to be a good one eventually thats for sure. But we havent seen him do what he did with the reserves in a first team match yet. Ole Gunnar is coming back from injury spanning the last couple years, but when he was playing he was deadly. As long as one of either Rossi, OGS, or Alan Smith comes to form ManU's offense will be good, b/c we all know Rooney will get his and IMO Saha will get his.

Saha is rediculously sick. One goal, one almost goal and 2 assists. If he stays healthy he could score 25 goals this season.

Saha has blistering pace and has good touch. This will open things up for Rooney as well. RVN, although a phenomenal player, was strictly a box player. Of course he could get space like no other (that and hide the fact he was offsides half the time).

I think Rossi is an American born player that could play for team USA but would rather play for the Italian national team.

Tevez has handed in a transfer request and ManU has long been chasing him. I don't know that they have trasnfer money to get him as Corinthians are asking for 25 million pounds but if they could get him, they would have some formidable forwards in Rooney, Saha, and Tevez.

dont tease me like that Dre.

Talk about a young and ridiculously sick strike front line if that happened.

last year they said they wouldnt let tevez leave for anything less than 50 million pounds...but corinthians is awful this year and tevez really wants out...I would love to see him play up top with Rooney...It would be a 100% bulldog front line. It may not work well though because they both have the same style of play and may get in each others way

not sure if you would want Rooney and Tevez in at the same time then. but it would allow you to keep both players fresh and rested for runs in the EPL or CL. Rooney/Saha, followed up by Tevez and one of Saha/Smith/Rossi/Ole. Sir Alex has always said he would love to have 4 top notch strikers to rotate constantly like he did during the Treble season

taking it to Charlton today. 2-0 with only a few mintues remaining. I know its early in the term, but any doubt about Saha carrying the load with RVN's departure is being answered by the frenchman. 2 matches, 2 goals.

****Edit: 3-0. Ole Gunnar! 3yrs of not playing. Very nice return.
