Quite a display of guts, stamina, determination from both players. Sad to think Andre may not be able to get out of bed today or by the time he has to play his next match.

And he plays none other than Mr. Becker, from the Baylor. What were the odds of that, that Becker will take a walk over win, and all the associated points to go with it, or have to play the most respected tennis professional on the tour.

The reality is that Andre was so tight last night he should've lost that match. After the second set he got outplayed by a large margin. If Baghdatis hadn't been cramping, Andre wouldn've been done for his career. I have never seen Andre so tight.

You could tell the nerves and the totality of the moment was affecting his game. I love watching Andre play but he was so nervous. Even though he was tight, that was some of his best tennis in over a year.

I have to give Baghdatis credit he played unbelievable tennis from the third set on. He didn't get tight until he was serving at 5-6 in the fifth. All around that was a great match. The level of tennis from sets three to five were extremely high. Even more props to Baghdatis for gutting that one out. Classy move at the end for thanking Andre for all he has done for the game of tennis.

Andre said after the match that it was his emotions moreso than his tightness that were causing him problems.

Agree - Bag was very classy in defeat, and very gutsy with the cramps.

Sorry to see him go he may be the last great American male player for a while, hopefully Roddick will pick up the torch but he seems to be up and down.
