I understand that we are going to host the 2009 Indoor Track and Field championship and we are building a facility. Where will it be built?

I know that I am slow, but I can't find a link for "Indoor Track Facility" under the facilities link.

Are the indoor football practice facility and the indoor track one and the same?

To my understanding we are building a facility to hold indoor competitions. I do not know how large indoor track facilities have to be and I do not know if they are supposed to have bleachers or a press box. We are supposed to host the 2009 Big 12 Championships. I assumed this was a part of the promise to Pat Henry to upgrade facilities.

They aren't the same, they are two different buildings.

There are two separate facilities at the southwest corner of Kyle, right off of Welborn. The one that is already completed is the new football practice facility. The other, which is in progress, and currently standing with a few trusses erected, is the new indoor track facility. It will have bleachers to seat plenty (~5,000?) and will have a hydraulic track that can be raised or lowered.

The facility is farther along than most of you think.

I have season softball tickets and my daughter and I were in Aggieland Sunday to watch the women play. After the game we drove over to the construction sight to take a look see. Part of the roof is on now, the construction on the hydraulic system and the support structure is on-going and everyhting is taking shape. The only problem I have with the whole complex is that the west end of both buildings butts right up to the sidewalk on Welborn Rd; if you open that door there and you don't know where you are, you will fall right onto Welborn and stumble into traffic.
