Great "gut-check" wins for Sarah and Nicki. Anna B. had a very tough luck match. Came back from 2-5 in the first set to tie it up at 6-6 (was up 6-5, but was unable to break serve). Then was down in the TB 4-6, played 2 great points to tie it at 6-6, then double-faulted and netted a service return to lose the TB 8-6. Destroyed her in the 2nd set 6-1, she was done, but their 2nd set ended right after Sarah clinched, so they had to play a TB for the 3rd set. I truly believe Anna B. would have cleaned her clock in the 3rd set, she was out of gas. But the TB gave her a 2nd wind because it's just one long game. Anna made some unforced errors and lost. Watching Elze early in the year, I really thought she could help us, but she is really, really struggling. Still, a very good win today. And much better weather!
