This weekend, A&M won the Lone Star Alliance Conference championship and will receive the conference automatic qualifier bid for the National Championship Tournament being held in Dallas this year.
After receiving a bye in the first round for winning the south division in the regular season, A&M opened tournament play with a 7-4 win over the North Texas Eagles. Sunday saw the long time rivals Aggies and Longhorns battle it out for the title with the Ags winning 15-13 over the horns.
This caps a great regular season by A&M that went 11-2 and included wins over top ranked out of state opponents such as Colorado, Missouri, UCLA and LSU as well as win over familiar Texas rivals Tech, Baylor and Rice.
Congrats to the team and good luck to them at the national tourney.
