Anyone thinking of placing bets? Where do you go to get good information?

I had a buddy win about $11,000 couple years back on about $50 worth of betting. Placed the bet at Sam Houston Race Track that morning before the race.

Both Sam Houston and Gulf Greyhound are open for betting if you live in Houston. Retama and Lone Star will also be options.

I will go wager at a track about 15 minutes from home here in West Virgnia. Don't have any picks yet as I haven't sat down to analyze. Have to go pick up the Daily Racing Forum (best source for info, if you know how to decipher it). Few things, being favorite is kiss of death, so Curlin has a tall order in front. I like stalkers in the Derby, horses coming off the pace, over the years those horses seem to do best. It might rain so have to look into who likes running in the mud, just in case. Really surprised to see no Baffert, Lucas, or Zito. Love the triple crown races.

Wow. Two horses that were 19 and 20 in the field at about the halfway mark wound up finishing 1 and 4.

Also - If you would have boxed those top 4 in a trifecta (cost of $48) it would have paid $440.
