A&m has about as much chance of reaching the sweet 16's as the club team at A&M...I know your a fan, but I hope to god that pick was wishful thinking and not an intelligent pick or unintelligent depending on how you look at it. The sweet 16 wont matter...you might as well put Georgia vs. Baylor, Miss, Ohio St.

come on man, quit getting all butt hurt over me being realistic. Its not being negative its being honest. If they had a legitimate shot to make it that far I would be all for them, but they dont and thats the truth. I know some of the guys on the team, have hung out with some of the guys on the team, consider them my friends, so Im not just some troll in here starting trouble. This is open Aggie forum. Not a everything about A&M is the greatest forum, I can say anything I want with in reason and use some criticism when I feel the need.

Just out of curiocity ch , what do you base your upsets on? Do you have inside info?

i know the horns beat boise earlier in the year, but that was withour kean feeder...noe feader is playing in the lineup, feeder was one of the top 5 juniors in the country 3 yrs ago and decided to go play on circuit...he did fairly well in 2003 he reached a ranking of around 550 playing mostly in US events which are much stronger than getting your points in south america or asia...he is very tough lefty and when you add a player in your top 3 it makes a huge difference..plus, coach patton a former US nat'l coach is probably the best motivator in the country and his guys relish the chance to play the big schools and i promise his team will play with more fire and energy than the horns have seen...it has nothing to do with me picking against the horns, i was going to pick boise as an upset against any team outside the top 6..

i pick tulsa over lsu, because i feel tulsa has their best team ever and their #1 brugues is a sure point against any school..when you have that big gun gauranteed win it takes you program to new level...UF over FSU is just a shot in the dark dont know much about either team, but UF Levine is ranked in the top 5 so I will take them

rik - correct but i did get one of my upset picks in Uf over FSU, they own them in the tourny...whats happened with Rook? I used to work with him some when he was younger and a great kid..i am suprised he is not playing ahead of Kane-west who in my opinion has probably the ugliest game in america, but is somewhat effective...

Ags got what they deserved, underachieving anti-climatic year with no big wins or real momentum...next year will tell a lot!!

I would not consider a 33 % prediction rate something to embrace.

And one final thought. When the match ended yesterday Jonah was on the court fighting his guts out to win what might have been the deciding match to send Texas to Athens for the round of 16. As it turned out the Longhorns didn't need the match to win it. However, he had his guy broken down and cramping and it was going to be 6-0 in the third for Texas.

I don't call that ugly tennis. I call it winning tennis.

well i know tu math might be a little different but i got 12 of the sweet 16 so thats 75% correct, i hit 33% of my upset picks which is alright...i never said west wasn't a fighter or he couldn't win i just said his game is very ugly and i have no idea what pro taught him to swing a racket like that, not that it was bad just super unconventional...horns got a great draw playing nc state in the 16s, a school that has no tennis tradition and a team with not much experience in the ncaas (i did think unc was the most beatable of the top 10 seeds, bc i thought they have been overrated the last 2-3 yrs, but losing to nc state is a shock)..out of the remaining 16 teams nc state is by far the weakest so looks like it could be a showdown with baylor in the qtrs...ah there is nothing better than the ncaas in athens - sorry to see it move around each year...no way the dawgs lose at home this year with this team..

but i was correct in the total number of 3 upsets out of the 16 remaining teams....so there

rik-wow...horns going down to NC State has to be a total shock...as for my predictions, i got 6 out of the elite 8 so i think thats pretty good, including USC upsetting ND....i also had an unseeded cinderella in the elite 8 in that same spot (but its NC St instead of Boise)

i had 14 of the sweet 16 (missed nc state and bama) and 7 of the elite 8 (missed illinois...didn't think their new lineup could hang with ole miss but they proved me wrong).

CH..at three all our #4 guy rolled ankle and showed great character to finish the match but there was no chance to win. He is our best clutch player. Felt bad for him and the team. However, we had a fine season. It was no accident that ncstate beat nc last week . They are good.

rik - i agree next year you guys are gonna be top 8 and a legit top 5 team with the addition of d'amico..he should come in and play top 3 based on his junior experience, hopefully center can learn from cass and not play one of the top 3 recruits at 6 all year where he wins easily but doesn;t improve ala tres davis.....d'amico has the background and international experience to play at least #3, which will help solidfy the lower lineup and have a chance to win against any teams top 3...this year is georgia's year to shine like it should've been last year, next year should be wide open

yep and they have a good chance against illinois....when you have a top 10 guy on your team, then your gonna be one of the best teams in the country and the last 4 years the baylor top player has been a ncaa singles champ, ncaa singles champ, and an indoor singles champ..look at the final 4 teams remaining and all their #1's are in the top 5 (anderson at illinois, isner at georgia or koellofel at ucla, devarman at uva, and poershke at baylor) you gotta have a stud and a #1 that is a for sure win and can beat the other guys in the top 10...

bu's chance to reach the finals improved dramatically today with iliini upset of tosu. This season has indeed been interesting. Ohio State lost one match in two dual contests this season vs Illinois but they get to georgia and look what happened. Would never have expected that.

IMO bu wins vs illinois. But uga is a train that cant be stopped this season.....

Sadly, I agree with you. Georgia is so stinkin' good. Our 2005 team that won the NC was really stinkin' good, too, but I don't know if they would be able to take this Georgia team.

UGA beats Illinois 4-0 for the title and a 32-0 season.

definitely one of the best teams of all time...won dbls point 31 of 32 matches with the #1 dbls team in the country and another team ranked and in the ncaa tourny plus their #3 dbls team didnt lose all year and both have a jr. grand slam dbls title...then in singles its even better with #1, #12, and #14 as your top 3, then #4 is ranked in top 35 going 4-0 in the tourny and named MVP, so they have 4 players in the singles tourny...their 5-6 guys were both ranked around 100, and thats only because they never get to play anyone high enough to get ranked higher, both of the 5-6 guys have atp points and were top 5 recruits...this years team was much better than the team that was 31-1 and lost in the finals last year

i'll defer to cory, but illinois in 2003 and baylor in 2004 were both pretty sick

-baylor 2004 had better doubles
-illinois 2003 was probably better at singles on paper
-illinois in 2003 had 4 guys in the top 25 (although i'm pretty sure delic and wilson lost at 1 and 2 in the team finals)
-baylor had 5 guys in the top 125

baylor 2004 vs. georgia 2007 might be the best dual match in the modern era
