I wouldn't go so far. We have already claimed 5 Big12 championships this year, more than any other school.

We actually have 6 championships this year. We have soccer, women's BB, women's indoor track, women's outdoor track, women's swimming and diving, and women's golf. We are at the moment tied with OU who also has 6. We are going for number 7 tomorrow in the baseball tourney championship.

...and you can throw in the Big 12 and western national titles in equestrian too

its nice to have so many titles, but why is every title in women's sports...i am serious, why do we appeal so much more to womens recruits and are able to dominate the conference in womens sports, but have no men's titles?

Title 9 effects perhaps? Women get more scholarships, and they will gravitate to the winning programs? versus the men's programs.

I know all Big 12 schools have the same level of scholarships, but what about the coaches and marketing/recruiting I am sure that has a lot to do with it also.

Football players look at markets that will give them a better chance at the pros, so they need visibility. That means media coverage and bowl games become very important.
