Looked at the 07-08 roster. Looks like Keenan Natyzak and Michal Winiewicz are missing from the roster. Any news?

Michal was said to be a spring addition - so maybe that is why he is not on there?

So by beginning of the year workout standards, are the new fish dominating practice like they should?

by beginning of the year standards? What does that mean...? Having watched some of their practices, I'd say they are getting worked over royally due to the change in training type. Give them a few more months of this level of intensity and we'll see if they "dominate" the rest of the team.

no matter how much of a stud a freshman is, the jump from high school to collegiate level swimming is so different, intensity, weights, drylands, and in the water, that it would be difficult for ANY freshman to "dominate" practice at the beginning of the year. They still have to adjust a ton to the different type/style

How about showing some respect for the seasoned members of the Men's swim team? I don't think in the history of the Men's program has a freshman class come in and "dominated" the upper class men. Maybe in women's, but not in men's.

Good call. it looks like these freshman will be great, but its those veterans that set the stage, and are still the foundation and leaders of the team

I would guess that of the recent "new" swimmers only Duran came to the program with the speed of veterans. Anyone who swims 200 fly as fast as he does had to be in very good condition when he set foot on campus.

I don't know what kind of yardage the Ags do, but the typical Texas 4A/5A kid A&M gets was probably doing 40,000-50,000 yards per week during their senior year. They were also probably the top dogs in their age group and high school teams. So at A&M they are probably getting their asses kicked for a while until their talent starts to come through.

On a side note - did you see the times from Texas' intrasquad meet this weekend? I was impressed by Ricky Berens' 1:48 IM and 1:49 200 Fly. Very fast early season times.....
