won game one 6-5. i left early in game 2, score was still 0-0.

Is Patti Wunderlich still on the team? She's not listed on the roster.

I did not see her tonight, nor did I see Macie Morrow.

Who pitched in game 1? In the past couple of years, I don't think they've given up more than a couple of runs a game in the fall, so 5 seems like a lot.

Gibson started, Shadow relieved and got knocked around pretty good. A&M was actually down a few runs (3-1 I believe) until the 4th or 5th and put 5 across. MCC girl then hit a bomb in the 6th to get them within 1.

Results posted on AggieAthletics - 6-5 in game 1, 5-1 in game 2. Based on last fall, no box scores, but hopefully a write-up.

Patti and Kristine have left the team, which unfortunately only leaves us with one catcher, a transfer from Notre Dame.

I missed that Kristine wasn't on the roster.

I think Rau can play catcher as well, so it's not like we don't have a backup.

i'm not sure why we left. but looks like we got a catcher with some power transferring in from Notre Dame

I checked the link and went to Glasco's bio page and it contained no information. Where did you read about her strength? Did you find hitting and defensive stats for her? Thanks.

She didn't play in their last 11 games last year, for whatever that's worth.

Looks like in 2006, she batted .214 with 2 HRs in 140 at bats, and in 2007 she batted .200 with 1 HR in 95 at bats.

She had good fielding %s both years.

Ideally, catchers don't make many errors, so I don't think fielding % means that much.

She threw out 20% of the baserunners (3-15, 3-10 in 06, 0-5 in 07). She also only 6 passed balls in 2 years, which is less than either catcher had all of last year. Of course, neither stat takes into account the number of innings caught, or the type of pitchers (pitches) she caught.

the transfer catcher has a good arm, and hits well too.

macie is still playing; just not fall ball. she will be back for spring

patti and test did quit-not sure why

the new freshman have a lot of potential. very talented as a group

are we sure they quit. there are 3-4 girls who violated team rules and are not allowed to participate in the rest of the fall workouts- but can come back in the spring.

Yes, patti and test have quit. i heard test announce it.

the 4 girls are now back for maroon and white series as well as spring.

Am I missing something, based upon her batting average and HRs the past two seasons, and throwing out 20% of runners?

i said that because i have seen her play fall ball...it was not based on stats

I talked to Erin's parents this past weekend at the SKGSL College Tourney; they are nice people. Jo recurited Patti and Erin at the same time; the scholarship went to Patti because she accepted first, and Erin ended up at ND which is closer to home. Her dad has some connection with a former student up near their home, maybe an employer/employee thing, not sure. Two years later, Erin transferred here and the timing is cool for us.

I'll say this, Patti had a more than adequate arm, but there was a play on Saturday in the USM game, where USM had a runner on 1st after a BB. The girl barely stepped off first base after a pitch, and Erin threw down to first from a kneeling position, with her hand barely six inches off the ground. Normally, when a catcher tries to make a pick like that, you can watch the ball going from HP to 1ST, moving your eyes. On this play, the ball went from HP to 1st before I could move my eyes- I heard the ball hit Rie's glove at first before it registerd in my head to even look at first. In the two games I was able to watch over the weekend, no one tried to run on her once.
