Alex Honnold climbed the Freerider route on El Capitan in 2017 without a rope. So at least a few people are doing incredible things out there.

I still think this is the greatest athletic feat that any human has done that we know of. And likely ever will be in our life times. When the aliens come for us and demand our best for inspection on whether we live or not as a species, we just shuffle him forward ,"Here, this is what we got"
