Same. Don't hate it but I honestly don't get all the love and Chevy Chase style of humor is usually right up my alley (Fletch, Foul Play) Definitely not a must watch every Christmas..

I've never really been a fan of the Christmas Story after watching it a couple times…my neighbors have the leg lamp on display every year though.

What?? If that is the case, it was a future prediction. Die Hard was released in 1988 (the year I graduated from High School). A full 20 years before your assertion. It was also a Summer release (July), so technically not a Thanksgiving or Christmas movie. Based on the fact that the event took place during a corporate Christmas party, the theoretical date was probably in the first or second week of December. All that said, great movie!
