They're great pets. Very expensive to keep with skin issues and other health problems.

Can't poop properly b/c of their body shape.
Can't lean properly because front-heavy.
Almost every breath is restricted like they're snoring.
Get overheated SO easily.
For their sake, we need to stop their breeding.

The Rib and I have had Dachshunds for 35 years in South and Central Texas.
If you are in a hot climate
- long nose dogs can cool down better/faster than snub nose dogs.
- short hair over long hair or wire hair.
