Harder and harder to wake up as it's now dark when my alarm goes off. I'm about ready to fall back to standard time. Also ready for an end to Hot-tober.

Today is Thursday. That's practically Friday. The weekend is almost here!

Sam Houston's football team is on TV tonight at 8 PM at New Mexico St. What more could you want?!?

Random fact about me.

I went to a Cirque du Solei Beatles show (LOVE) in Vegas back in 2019. The show "broke" about 35 minutes in. At least one set piece could no longer be moved. They were unable to correct the problem, and we were refunded our money. They told us that in the 13 year (at that time) run of the show this had never happened.

So where are you in Iowa? Are you near Council Bluffs, Sioux City? I'm frighteningly nerdy when it comes to geography. It's because of my weather background.

Thinking I should take Benny to Des Moines some time. It's only about four hours away, and we've never been. Large enough it seems like there must be something to do. There's AAA baseball, and I'm sure it has a zoo. There's two things to do right there!

People drive to Des Moines for something to do?

Not trying to get into politics, but are you following that Ian Robert/Des Moines ISD story? The whole thing is amusing/horrifying. Like how does a background check miss that he's not a legal resident?

Apparently. We wound up at some strange live action sci-fi spoof with lots of blacklights and random topless women. There was a bar in the back of the seating (no curtain). It was probably more fun than the Beatles would have been.

I like to travel. There isn't anywhere I could live that I wouldn't want to regularly get in a car and visit other places. I'm tired of STL and Benny is tired of KC. DSM might be a fun place...

I am in Missouri, but I've never understood the appeal of battlefield sites. Maybe I should start going through them with a metal detector? Could be a profitable new hobby!!

Only thing touristy I've ever done in Missouri was go to Meramec Caverns.

Typing while laptops do updates. Guess yesterday's update wasn't enough.

Had a dream before I woke up that my cousin and me were hiding nuclear warheads from the Russians.

People are not making good choices this week.

Fiber is being installed on our road. Dude in the mini-excavator nearly crunched our fence yesterday. We had a discussion. He did better afterwards.

They did crunch the neighbor's fence today.

Wife is on jury duty all week. And maybe part of next week. Criminal case. She says there have been some upsetting facts revealed but she won't give me details until the trial is over.

Need to figure out dinner plans.

I'm in Sioux City. It's a ****hole but it has been my family's ****hole since they immigrated and started a church 100 years ago, so here I am.

I went to Des Moines last month! It's a clean town, I liked it. There weren't very many people there, so it felt sort of like a ghost town.

We did this thing in Boone, about an hour north, where you get onto a rail car and pedal across railroad tracks. It would be so great to do during the fall with the leaves changing, just don't book the one at night or it's pitch black and you can't see anything. https://www.railexplorers.net
