The students name is Brianna Aguilera '27. This hits close to home as a former Laredoan and an Aggie. This beautiful young life was cut short way too early on the night of the game this past weekend. I don't personally know her, but I can't imagine what her family is going through. Below is the new article along with the GoFundMe page that has been verified for her for anyone that feels compelled to help out the family.

Sad to see that this was confirmed. When the initial information came out it was just via a GoFundMe and some vague social media posts so a lot of people were thinking it was not real. I wish it was not real. I don't wish that on any mother or anyone.

The story is getting more and more bizarre as more information comes out.

https://www.ksat.com/news/texas/2025/12/01/mother-questions-circumstances-surrounding-death-of-daughter-a-texas-am-student-in-austin/

She fell 17 stories off the balcony of an apartment complex she was staying at. APD labeled it a suicide, reportedly. The mother has come out saying that APD rushed into calling it a suicide rather than properly investigating. Her mother also began calling APD even before she died worried that she wasn't answering her phone. It took APD over 12+ hrs to finally contact her mother to report her death. The cousin who is running the GoFundMe made a Facebook post highlighting concerning issues with APD (like releasing phone and keys to non-family members) but also reads as a grieving family trying to find answers. I don't fault them, it all seems senseless. Losing someone so young with such a bright future and having so many questions about what actually happened that night. My heart goes out to them and hope they find some amount of peace and closure.

This needs to be posted to the Outdoors Board. No witnesses. No note. Evidence of an argument. In a different city. Deceased not known to be suicidal. This reeks. Follow the money and the power on this one and see where it leads. Austin must be rife with dirty cops who protect the B-listers. If they have nothing to hide, why are they acting like it?

Her family has been very vocal about it in the media and on social media.

There were 15 people in the apartment at the time she fell. Surely someone knows something. A toxicology report would indicate if she was on anything other than alcohol. It sounds odd that a 19 year old girl would get drunk enough to play on the railing, that sounds more like something a guy would do.

when I had a balcony on the second floor on college, it was always the guys doing dumb dangerous stuff.

also they are saying it might take months to get toxicology? thats bull and everyone knows it.

I will say her body is pretty messed up if she fell 17 stories. That's a long way.

How does that make getting a toxicology report more difficult?

And apparently some of them immediately left the scene/were allowed to.leave without speaking to police. One person moved out of the apartment that night. No cell phones were taken, apparently only a few statements were taken. Its just weird all around...

No it isn't. Depending on jurisdiction it is not unusual for it to take anywhere from 4 weeks to several months to get forensic toxicology results back. Particularly if there are positive results. This type of testing is a lot more rigorous than a drug screen done for clinical purposes at a hospital.

Does the actual analytics take that long, no, of course not, but there are multiple factors involved which all introduce delay (shipping, specimens being run in batches, expert review of results, ordering of additional tests).

The real rate limiting step is money and resources, and frankly medical examiners offices aren't usually flush with cash to pay for expedited testing.

Looks like Austin PD kept receipts:

https://www.chron.com/news/article/texas-am-student-brianna-aguilera-timeline-21223652.php

If their timeline is correct, it sure does look like a suicide. Only thing that doesn't make sense is how she was talking to her boyfriend while her phone was in the wooded area. If she was using a friend's phone and those phone records match their version of events, looks like Austin PD is credible in thinking it's a suicide.

Interesting. The article on KBTX shows it this way:

12:43 a.m. to 12:44 a.m. - Phone records show Aguilera borrowed a friend's phone and had a call with an out-of-town boyfriend. Witnesses say Brianna and her boyfriend had a fight. The boyfriend confirmed the fight happened with Austin police.

https://www.kbtx.com/2025/12/04/austin-police-reveal-new-evidence-surrounding-death-texas-am-sophomore/

Edit to add chron.com shows it like this:

12:43-12:44 a.m.: Aguilera calls her out-of-town boyfriend. Witnesses reported to APD that they heard Aguilera arguing on the phone with her boyfriend. Notably, the phone call was made two minutes before the 911 call about Aguilera's body.

She left a suicide note and talked to others about her suicidal feelings a month before.

This was a suicide.

Sad deal.

It sounds like a sad suicide situation, but this is the same police department who saw blood all over a missing dude's apartment, declared it to be "wine stains" and called it a day, so I don't know how much I believe their investigation here.

Don't forget they had a year or two under Acevedo where they seemed to be running a canine genocide campaign.
