That's a shame. The heal has lots of uses - it makes a great piece of french toast with the two textures on each side.

When I was a little kid my grandfather told me the all the nutrients are in the crust so the ends are the healthiest part. As a kid I was like that makes total sense and believed it longer than I should've never actually thinking about it.
