Hope you feel better, orbit.

Another in office/at home day for me. Love these, although I'm still behind on getting stuff done.

In trying to figure out where I'm getting the smell of sewer gasses in just one small room of my house, I ended up replacing all my toilets in the house the other day.

Still smells but only when the AC and even the gas furnace run. It has to be something with that unit up in the attic above this room.

Also ordered new top down, bottom up blinds recently. House is getting a glow up here to start 2026.

Heading toward a high of 68 in west Georgia/east Alabama.
A good day starts with good coffee.

Make it a good one in spite of what the rest of humankind is up to.

I thought that, too, and had it checked out but was told all was good. I might call a different AC guy.

Bizarre weather. Thunder and lightning and absolutely pouring rain. Not very January-like. We're usually moisture-starved this time of year, but not today. The view looking out of my garage this morning.

Check the condensate drain for you a/c.

Lower humidities this time of year can dry up the water in the p trap of this line and if it is directly connected to a drain line (not supposed to be) it will pull sewer gases back into that line and your a/c system.

There should be an air gap between the condensation drain line and any septic/sewer line it drains into. This is to ensure the problem described above doesn't happen.

Even with the air gap, if there is not a p trap downstream of the condensate line, it can still pull those gases in if the p trap in the condensate line goes dry.

It might be worth a trip into the attic and pour ~ gallon of water into the drain line for the coils and see if that fixes your problem.

Also, if you run your a/c once a month, it should keep p trap full of this is the problem.

That little strip of trees and brush supports at least one rabbit. I see him (her?) every morning and most evenings. Brown with a cotton tail. I'll try to get a picture some time.

  • Did not sleep well at all last night
  • The high pressure system that brought all the rain in overnight also triggered an awful migraine and joint aches
  • Soooo busy with work
  • Flying down to Texas on Saturday to pick up a car and drive straight back
  • Thinking of reaching out to the KC curling club. It's been awhile since I've been on the ice and I kinda miss it.
  • My company switched insurance on Jan 1 which means most of my doctors are no longer in network. Cool.
  • Stay safe out there folks!

Finally found a Geo Tracker?

Man I wish.

We are selling my wife's Kia Soul to my our friends son and my parents are selling their Mini Cooper S to their daughter. We are then taking my father in law's kia soul for my wife (its a newer model than what she currently drives). My friend and I are going to fly in, turn around, and drive them back.

If i got a Geo Tracker, this board would know about it. I'd post a thread with enough pics it would be like a car mag spread. I would be insufferable.
