Up early. Had coffee, might make some more. I'm in my "not going out, nobody will be coming over, stay warm" clothes. You know what, not gonna shower today. I've brushed and even flossed today so I'm doing OK.

Work stuff on the laptop this morning. Will watch some football today. We have leftovers to warm up so food isn't an issue.

I have booze.

Gonna be a good day.

ETA - dog is not happy with the icy yard. I've also turned on the water features on the pool so the pipes won't break. So strange to hear that when I open the back door.

Snow on the road in Charlotte, but no real accumulation on the lawn. Doesn't appear that anyone has driven on the road in front of my house this morning. Dog went in the backyard no problem and is now sleeping on my bed.

Slept great. Didn't hear the thunder or see the lightning.

Guard cat did wake me up at 12:15am to let me know something was in the back yard and had triggered the motion light. I didn't see anything when I looked outside.

Bagel and eggs and cheese were good. I don't normally eat this early but I'm not leaving the house today except to walk dogs.

Wife walked the dogs this morning. She walked the schipperke a long time. He would not do all his business for her. I think the icy grass was poking his tiny puppy paws and he didn't like it.

Probably make a pan of brownies later.

The house is a balmy 67 degrees.

Cold rain but no freezing yet here in west Georgia/east Alabama. We're actually headed toward a high of 53 today with rain until the temperature plunges after midnight and we get to 21 for a low. I hope the rain has a chance to evaporate a bit before then. Staying inside with good coffee because...

Weird. I was scrolling Reels on Facebook while hanging with the kitties and came across one from a young lady with dark hair and bangs who provides odd "survival tips" mostly on the beach that sometimes seem pretty impractical. Why am I going to have a pencil sharpener with me to help start a fire?

I had not seen this "digital creator" before but she looked familiar. Finally realized she looks like a TexAgger. I think. It's odd.

Is it possible the heat is still running, just that the thermostat won't change?

The heater is loud when it runs, so I know it isn't running. My thermostat just says "OFF". I changed the battery in it, but it didn't help. As long as I stay in the 60s, I'll wait it out.

They just plowed my street. At my last place, it took days for them to get to us. I'm thinking about heading out for coffee now. Diet Coke this morning was a poor substitute.

As for the workout, I went to the gym yesterday.

Went out for coffee, and everything is plowed. This city has always done a rotten job with snow removal, but they had their act together this time. I drove by my last two places, and they've both been plowed as well. This is outstanding!

Not much. It just froze over. According to my weather app, it didn't warm up like forecasted. High of 24, no sun, pavement and cars still with a layer of ice.

Got sleet and more snow overnight.

No routes going out tomorrow.

I called my manager and told him I wasn't going in tomorrow.

Roads here are terrible.

Low tonight supposed to be 5 with wind chills below zero.

You've got lots of choices then.

-Nice little day with the fireplace going and watching tv.

-I went out and cleared the driveway with my snowblower, walked it down to my friend's place so he could clear his and walked it back to my place clearing the sidewalk between our houses.

-family dinner at our friend's house tonight

-I feel like I should get a snow day from work tomorrow

Today has been a productive day. Got about 7 hours of work done so far, spent a good bit of it in front of the fire. 3 Lifetime/Hallmark movies in the background, with another one on now.
