Several Buc-ee's locations on the Better Business Bureau website have received an "F" rating from the nonprofit organization because it says the Texas-based travel center has failed to respond to 88 customer complaints. As of March 11, 38 Buc-ee's locations in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas received the low-grade rating.

Similar to review sites like Yelp, anyone can submit a complaint about a business on the Better Business Bureau website. Of the 88 outstanding Buc-ee's complaints, the oldest unanswered submission dates back to March 2023, with the most recent filed in February 2026, as of March 11.

Common complaints about the beaver-laden travel center include issues with the car wash, broken or ineffective merchandise and erroneous card charges. Several customers also said they filed a complaint on the Buc-ee's website but had not heard anything back from the company.

Buc-ee's did not immediately respond for comment about the "F" rating when contacted by USA TODAY on March 11.

If you're overweight and like to blow cash you don't have, Bucee's is absolutely a destination stop.

Newsflash: BBB isn't there for consumer protection. May just mean that Buccees doesn't pay the BBB protection racket to get their 'A' rating.

I bought a used car in 2023. I'd never done that before. It was "Nissan certified," and the sales rep went on and on about the warranty it came with because of that certification. When I got home I realized I'd bought an add-on warranty, something that WAS NOT made clear during the signing.

I called the dealership and couldn't get anyone to even talk to me. They told me that my salesman had taken the day off (a Thursday). The manager wasn't available, and so on.

I filed a complaint with the St. Louis BBB. Within two hours, I was called by the sales manager of Suntrup Nissan. She emailed me a .pdf, which I signed, scanned, returned, and then she sent me a notice of cancellation for that warranty (in exchange for me cancelling my complaint).

The BBB filled a very important need for me. If you're not responding to BBB complaints, you're doing something wrong.

Its great 90% of the time. The 10% of the time its terrible is on a holiday.........I'd rather take a dump making eye contact with my neighbor and roll the dice on the 4 day old crispito than deal with the holiday crowd.

Here's an idea - dont post up right near the door or RR and chat with all the same people who are in the same car as you!!!

About 15 years ago, I was a corporate director for a restaurant chain that at its peak had 1250 units. Customer Complaints were a bid deal…and we had to contact the individual within 48 hours. The majority were issues one would roll their eyes…such as the ribeye steak was too fatty. But it was also important to contact the consumer, to at least try to work thru the issue. Granted, only 30 complaints per year, which is noting. Still…5, 10 minutes per call isn't that big of a deal imo.

And btw, I love Buc ees

They should get an F for ridiculous red corn syrup they slather on bbq.

It's embarrassing to pass that off as bbq. The sauce turns an otherwise serviceable brisket sandwich into cotton candy flavored meat on a bun.
