If you have to listen to someone use one of these two dialect quirks at the end of every sentence they vocalize, do you have a preference between the two?

Its a pretty common thing, right?
People always use these when they talk, ya know?

I make a game out of answering each time. "Yes, that is right" or "I DO know". I'm gonna start throwing in some "Right as rain, brother!" Maybe add a fist bump or something. You gotta be quick, or they'll move on to the next sentence.

I feel sure I'm going to regret starting this topic, but its a slow day on the GB.

I hate when people say both of those. They are implying automatic agreement when I may not agree. It drives me absolutely nuts.

If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull sheet.

I know you understand what you think I said but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Two of my grandfather's sayings.

I've used those a time or twenty.

My high school algebra teacher Mrs. Allen had that second quote up over her blackboard.

"Right?" is the worst verbal tic in the world. I want to punch anyone who does this in the face.

When did "like" and "literally" fall out of use? Like, have they like literally stopped?

If I hear "like" too often in a job interview I set their resume aside and look for the next candidate to interview.

I still cringe when I hear anyone use the word "like."

She was like this, or he was like that. For God's sake, use a verb.

As a former professor, I occasionally used classroom time to emphasize the need to write and speak the English language. When I imitated the way my students spoke (including their misuse of the word "like"), they laughed. Then, I told them that their reaction would be imitated by their prospective employers. That's when their laughter stopped.
