Does anyone else use a Fi collar as a safety measure for their doggy? They make them for kitties too. Let me know your dog's @ so I can follow them on Fi! Mine is @indywindy.

This is a tracking device? Like a lojack for dogs? My cats aren't allowed outside (and don't wear collars), but that's pretty cool.
And can you also post the name of your childhood pet and last 4 of your SSN?

I have a Fi collar on my pup and really like it. She is still young and adventurous. I like knowing if she ever gets loose I could find her quickly. I also like the activity tracking features. I can check-in on how she is doing when she is at daycare. I hope never to need it but it's nice to have just in case.
I wish my daycare let my dog wear her Fi collar when she's there! She'd skyrocket in the rankings, I just know it.

We have a Fi collar for our lab. We like it, but the battery seems to deplete quickly.

If I am at home (inside or out), my dog rarely goes more than 10 feet away from me.
If I leave home and someone is still there he stays close to them.
If we leave him home alone, he stays near a window where he can see the driveway so he can be ready when we get home.

Now we just have an air tag in their collar, it lasts months and is good enough for emergency/lost purposes. We don't have interest in tracking their steps or sleep habits.. they are dogs.
And honestly, the 2-3 times they've gotten out (one of ours can jump the fence.. other times it's some kid leaving our back fence gate open which goes to the park), we get a phone call because their collars have my cell phone # on them.

not with real time tracking you weren't.
if I remember (it's been several years since we moved on from FI), it certainly lasts long when you're at home on wifi.
But when dog is away with no wifi, and you want to track it, it lasted a day.

We do. Have had good battery when traveling as well. Have the newest version. See minimal drain when she is at daycare with no wifi. Just my experience.

Their website literally says ".... live tracking to allow you to track your pet every few seconds. This mode is more battery-intensive and allows you to track your pet for about 2 days on a full battery."
You aren't live tracking if you're getting a few weeks out of it.
I would only live track if she was missing. It pings her collar every few seconds in that mode so yes would burn more battery. For standard use this is not necessary. Just checking periodically when she is at daycare, activity tracking and walk tracking it easily last close to two weeks. She has been at daycare all day today and battery is only down 3%.
