Day trip to DFW for work today. Will be leaving soon. Now the front yard when I get back.

Parents leave for Houston today; I'm worried about them driving but at least they've been behind the wheel here in CS.

Didn't sleep great. Bad dreams. Woke up 45 minutes before alarm

Took a tumble on the asphalt in the dark walking the little dog this morning. Had to stop and get some neosporin on the way to work for my road rash since I couldn't find any in our house. My forearm near the elbow and my right hip took the brunt of it. Washing asphalt out of my skin didn't feel good!

Been on the move a bunch since getting to work. Need some uninterrupted time to work on a report. I don't see that happening soon

Gonna need to go to sleep at a decent hour tonight

Oh no! Hope the road wash is the worst of it and that you're not too sore from that. Doing good deeds like walking a little dog deserves reward, not ouchies.

Sunny and 49F when Benny made/bought my coffee this morning. Not going to get too used to the sun as we have more rain forecast today. Supposed to stay relatively cool all week though. That will be good for my utility bill.

Finally have the MRI for my knee tomorrow. Hoping the damage can be taken care of with an outpatient scope. I'm screwed if I have to stay in the hospital. There's not really anyone in town I trust to take care of Benny, and he has no way to get anywhere without me here. Outside of a school bus stop, there's no public transport anywhere near here. I'd likely have to ask my sister to come up from Texas (she hasn't been here in 11 years), and I *really* don't want her having that over me.

On-call for work today. Looking to have an uneventful day and a good night's sleep. Aggie baseball this evening.

Could I recommend cold brew instead of drip coffee?
The cold brew has far less tasted acidity and is wonderful for the hot climate in Texas. There are lots of cold brew recipes on YouTube or you can just buy it at Starbucks.

  • Slept pretty good. I had been exhausted for like 2 weeks and now feeling a lot better.
  • All my meetings were canceled today. Woohoo.
  • Just got some help with reports and now can get better metrics.
  • Work on some project stuff.
  • I COOKED 2 NIGHTS IN A ROW.
  • I brought my breakfast AND lunch 2 days in a row.
  • I don't ever do either of those things - so winning this week.
  • Travel work tonight.

Tripped and fell twice last year 3 months apart at the Dollar General near my house. Fell on the same side. My right elbow still bothers from those falls.

I actually use it to hold my keys and wallet at my desk. Not sure if I've inadvertently created a metaphor about material possessions in the modern world vis a vis the eternal life/salvation that the Grail represents.
