Had an EKG done this morning in preparation for surgery. My blood pressure is up. I'm feeling strongly motivated to start walking again. In my 20s and early 30s I walked about three miles a night. Benny and I got into the habit of walking a few winters ago, but my cold-weather-arthritis kicked in. Which reminds me... I need to ask my doctor what can be done about the arthritis developing in my knee (and hip).
Given your job, much like mine, you fairly sedentary throughout the day, so I get up in the morning and walk 3 miles and then go to the gym in the evenings and do some light workouts. While my kids are in college or have graduated college, it gives me the freedom to do it more so than you…one thing I will say is that I like starting my day with the walk, kind of kickstarts the day and gives me a boost of energy,
