Anybody watch this show or read the books? Started watching Season 1 the other day. Started out very strong for me, but has tapered a little last couple episodes (on episode 7 now).

Afraid it is going to get too emo-ish for my taste of it continues down the same path. Has some really interesting concepts that keep me intrigued.



It's been described as Harry Potter for adults, and it is a very adult show. Lot's of f-bombs and cussing. Drug use, sex, violence, etc.

Spoiler for first episode:

One thing that really hooked me into the show is within the first episode or so, the Dumbledore like "Dean" of the school has both his eyeballs, very graphically, ripped out of his head by the main bad guy.

First season was kind of up and down for me. See DVR picked up 1st episode of 2nd season, but haven't been interested enough to watch it yet.

i made it through 6 or 7 and getting boring. I got hooked early and they haven't followed it up

Not sure if anybody is watching Season 2, but it is head and shoulders above Season 1.

This season is a step up from the last. Pretty entertaining actually, and this week's episode was pretty ballsy.

I like the humor but then the geek factor comes in and you're all, "Jesus, cut the Harry Potter s*** out".

"Isn't this a school? Shouldn't y'all be studying instead of fighting evil?"

The Russian said it best, "why don't y'all ***k already?"

"Why is Harry Potter putting up with that Dots bull s***? Kick his ass!"

I was really a fan of how the portrayed Martin. He was clearly BSC and it was awesome.

Just starting this. Alice looks like a hot Kate McKinnon.

The first episode was terrible. The pace was absurd and had I not read the book, I would have had no idea what was going on.

I watched because of the concept and hot femmes (especially the nerdy glasses, skirt and high stockings) then like most current shows, they had to go the LBGXYZ route...and I stopped.

I watched season 1. The plot was really good but goodness gracious they are trying to hard to be 'sexy' and 'edgy'

Season 2 has made my jaw drop most of the eps.

Is anybody still watching this? Season 3 finale aired tonight. I thought Season 2 was better than 1, and believed the premise to 3 was going to be good but I don't think it delivered.

Not sure why, but yeah, I still watch this. Not sure the acting is all that much better, but all the characters other than Alice have grown on me.

Completely lost interest. What could be a great show decided it wanted to be as close as possible to a campy B level sci fi channel show.

Still watching, but not quite sure why. Think mainly for Eliot and Margo, they crack me up. Quentin just annoys the hell out of me.

To a certain degree all the excitement I had about 3/4's into the finale was dashed by the end of it. I'm a little frustrated with how they've pretty much cleaned the slate again, especially with Quentin. While i appreciated the development of the characters this season, especially Fenn and Julia, I felt that most was undone by the finale.

To be honest, about the only characters I enjoy watching on the show are Margo, Elliott, and Julia. Everyone else is insufferable IMO.

The blonde had a lot of promise on the show, but she just so intense/overacts every scene they are in.

Eliot and Margo are easily carrying the show.

I don't get what is supposed to happen with Quentin. I feel like he's supposed to be the lead of the show, but is effectively relegated to the a support character and honestly, not even one of the main ones.

I haven't watched the finale yet but it's way down the list of priorities. Mostly because every episode I watch, I either feel like I have no idea what's going on or that it's same song different verse with all the stupid keys.

Agreed, I love Eliott & Margo.

I felt like the first season was too slow and that because of the weekly format of the show it led me to missing/forgetting things, so I waited for it to be put on Netflix. Then I marathoned it, and it was honestly so much better that way as I actually understood what was going on and the season made more sense.

Started watching this show out of desperation and it's okay. It's like smut fantasy for those looking to scratch an itch. Most of the characters are annoying, Alice has turned really annoying in season 3 and Quentin is always a little B. Julia and Penny may be the only endearing characters, but for some reason it's mostly enjoyable to watch for reasons I can't explain.
