Apologies if there is already a thread on this--went a few pages back and did not see one.

Gave this a shot last night given its high acclaim (96% on RT, 82 on MC). I ended up really liking it a lot more than I thought I would from when I started it. A somewhat lazy description of the show would be True Romance meets Moonrise Kingdom...but very British.

Odd format--it is like a "mini" mini-series: eight episodes with each episode being 20 to 25 minutes long. But I thought it worked.

Curious to others thoughts.

Is this the one where the guy is planning to kill the girl? I saw a trailer about that.

I've watched 2 episodes and not sure I'll watch any more. Just not very entertaining so far.

We watched the whole thing in one sitting. Thought it was pretty good, but could see how it isn't for everyone.

I really enjoyed it. The two kids are great, decent humor while also pulling off the sadness and tragedy of their lives. It definitely had a British Wes Anderson vibe which is probably why I liked it so much.

We really enjoyed it. Binged it in one night. Wasn't a huge fan of the ending though.

Loved it. I want to read the book now.

It took me a while to figure out that was Yara Greyjoy

Checking back in from earlier. Just finished it and agree I hate the ending.

Exactly....loved it until the end.

Wife and I watched it in about 3 sittings- and reluctantly finished it because we're in a show hole.

She liked it a little more than me. I dunno- you could tell they were trying to be humorous with dark comedy, just fell flat with me. I hated both characters. Never have I wanted to see character raped more than Alyssa.

Enjoyed it and the ending.

Watched the whole thing. This is my reaction to the entire show.

I can't get over the fact that he is Kenny from Shut Up and Dance from Black Mirror

Second season is out. Pretty solid follow up. Might actually like it more than the first season, less humor but still very real.

Love both seasons, really solid show.

Fiance and I liked it a lot. Second season was entertaining and we were able to get through it in a few sittings.

Just finished it, thought it was surprisingly good. Can see why some wouldn't like it though,
