Anybody else still watching this crap? It's become insufferable. I've watched every season, but not sure I can finish this current one. But I only have 2 or 3 episodes left, so will probably force myself to finish it.

History is known for their compelling dramas. Surprised to hear this is no longer the next Game of Thrones.

I disagree I'm enjoying it still. The Ragnarok battle sequence was pretty awesome.

I thought the actress who played Ivar's wife was excellent. She could say so much with just a glare.

So much this. Wish Floki would have been with Bjorn this whole time.

Still enjoy it but agree with the Floki/Iceland sentiment... completely pointless.

'Vikings' Sequel Series Set at Netflix From Michael Hirst, Jeb Stuart

https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/vikings-valhalla-netflix-1203409353/

Fans of the History series "Vikings" rejoice!

Netflix has ordered the follow up series titled "Vikings: Valhalla," which will be set 100 years after the conclusion of the original show. The sixth and final season of "Vikings" on History is set to debut on Dec. 4.

"Valhalla" will be executive produced by "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst, with Jeb Stuart serving as writer and showrunner. Along with Hirst and Stuart, "Vikings" executive producer Morgan O'Sullivan will serve in the same role on "Valhalla." MGM Television will produce. In addition, the new show will shoot in Ireland like the original with many original members of the "Vikings" production team returning in all departments.

"I am beyond excited that we are announcing the continuation of our 'Vikings' saga," Hirst said. "I know that the millions of our fans across the globe will be thrilled by the belief being shown in our show by MGM and Netflix. Jeb Stuart, a truly wonderful writer, will bring new story-lines and a powerful visceral vision to stories about some of the most famous Vikings known to history."

The series will dramatize the adventures of the most famous Vikings who ever lived Leif Erikson, Freydis, Harald Harada and the Norman King William the Conqueror (also a Viking descendant). These men and women will blaze new paths as they fight for survival in an ever changing and evolving Europe.

"'Vikings: Valhalla' promises to be everything that fans love about the franchise: heart-pounding, unstoppable action rooted in rich characters and dramatic storytelling that shines the light on family, loyalty and power," said Channing Dungey, vice president of original series for Netflix. "We are thrilled to bring the next iteration of the 'Vikings' saga to life with Michael Hirst, Jeb Stuart, Morgan O'Sullivan and MGM Television."

"Vikings" debuted on History in 2013 and marked the network's first attempt at original scripted programming. The series proved to be a ratings breakout for the cabler and has remained highly-rated throughout its run. The series also proved to be an early hit for the revamped MGM Television, whose scripted roster currently includes other critically-acclaimed shows like "Fargo" at FX and "The Handmaid's Tale" at Hulu.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Michael, Morgan, Jeb and Netflix on the next chapter in the incredible 'Vikings' universe," MGM's president of television production and development Steve Stark said. "'Valhalla' has been a labor of love for everyone involved and as we look ahead to the continuation of this great saga, we are excited to know that fans the world over will have the opportunity to continue with the series on its new home at Netflix."

Stuart is best known for his feature work, with his credits including films such as "Die Hard," "The Fugitive," and "Fire Down Below." Hirst previously co-created the historical series "The Tudors" and "Camelot" and has penned films such as "Elizabeth" and "Elizabeth: The Golden Age."

Dropped it after the 10 month hiatus between S5E10 and S5E11. I already started getting "meh" about it after S5E10.
This is about when I dropped it, too. It just hasn't been the same post-Ragnar and I couldn't care less about the story lines around his sons.

I'm still watching it but it did lose something once Ragnar died. I don't think it's in sufferable though. But if you dislike it that much then don't force yourself to watch, I guess.

It's not the same since Ragnar died. But the story about the end of his life was kinda 'meh'....old depressed man addicted to Opium storyline drug on way to long.

It was a bit slow after he died at first, while the show regained it's legs....but I've still really enjoyed it, and am looking forward to the next season.

Anyone still watching this?
I decided to stick with it to see it through to the end. Its tough sometimes...

I thought this last episode was going to be the finale, but its just the mid-season finale. Not sure when we will see the back half.

It was an odd ending if you saw it. Since this is only half way in the season, I doubt they really killed off Bjorn since they have killed off just about everyone else, but any thoughts on how they wrap this up. They seemed to have let various characters just fall way like Loki and Rollo, so you never really know what they are doing.

Haven't watched this season but I feel like Rollo's part in this story is done. It's his descendants that have roles left to play, especially in the formation of modern England

The ending made little sense to me.

Also so Ivar's group climbed the cliffs and then invaded from behind them on the beach?

That's my best guess, but everything seemed so all over the place that I couldn't tell for sure.

All I know is I want that Russian puppet kid to get offed very soon.

The show's not what it once was, but I still like it. The original casting and story line was so good. I wish it could have maintained the same level throughout. But I still like it.

I think the ending will be a bit weird.

Everyone's gone. You have Ivar, and this new King Igor, from Kiev. I dont really care if either one of them succeed...but assume the finale will picture one of them on the throne, over all of Norway. That's a long long way away from the story/characters that we originally started following.

I think he's Ivar's key, to a rise in power. Once Igor is dead, the kid is in charge. I'm guessing Ivar takes advantage of that.

I really did not like the last episode how they would flash from battle to the weird scene of Ivar & Bjorn chatting on the beach. It just did not flow well at all and was very confusing in what kind have been a really epic marine invasion scene.

Agreed! They have ruined several great battle scenes in the series doing similar things.
