With April just around the corner, I've started to notice how crazy next month is going to be in terms of the beginning of the "end" for three mega franchises...

APRIL 12 (FRIDAY) - Star Wars: Episode IX
-The likely debut of the first trailer for Episode IX - the final Star Wars movie in the Skywalker saga - at Star Wars Celebration, if past precedent holds, and by all accounts it likely will. (Not to mention, we'll likely get the first trailer for The Mandalorian here as well.)

APRIL 14 (SUNDAY) - Game of Thrones: Season 8
-The premiere of the final season of the most popular TV series of the decade. Three of the six total season eight episodes will air in April.

APRIL 25 (THURSDAY) - Avengers: Endgame
-The theatrical debut of the movie itself; the culmination of 11 years of the MCU, an event that will dramatically change the MCU going forward, and will likely see the death of at least a couple beloved characters.

Not to mention, in the world of sports...

APRIL 6 (SATURDAY) - NCAA Basketball Final Four

APRIL 8 (MONDAY) - NCAA Basketball National Championship

APRIL 11 (THURSDAY) - The Masters

APRIL 13 (SATURDAY) - NBA Playoffs

APRIL 13 (SATURDAY) - A&M Maroon & White Spring Football Game

In other words, the weekend of April 12, in particular, will see...

-The first Episode IX trailer
-The Masters
-The NBA Playoffs begin
-The Maroon & White Game
-AND the season eight Game of Thrones premiere

That's insane.

I think it's safe to say that April 2019 might be the most exciting all-around month of the entire year in terms of sports and pop culture...

My daughter is due right before the Masters, so my month is Shazam, baby, Masters, Endgame

It'll be super nice chilling with the baby watching the Masters (or catching up on sleep)

April 11-14 is gonna be a hell of a weekend.

Heading to Chicago for Celebration (first time attending), and since we'll still be there Sunday night, we'll be heading to a bar for the GoT premiere that night.

With all the nerds that'll be in town, I'm sure it's gonna be a hell of a crowd. Can't wait.

And then two weeks after that, we get Endgame, plus the Battle of Winterfell episode.

Throw in Shazam in the first weekend of April, and that is one of the best months of all time in entertainment, for me personally.

Playing golf the entire weekend from the 11th to the 14th (annual golf retreat with about a dozen other friends.) I anticipate playing up to 6 rounds in 4 days. I may be too tired to watch GoT by Sunday night.

So... what are you more excited for this weekend, the Star Wars content (the first trailers for both Episode IX and The Mandalorian) or the Game of Thrones premiere on Sunday?

Only because we still have five more weeks of GoT after this weekend, personally, I'd say I'm more excited for the Star Wars content, but I'm interested to hear what everyone else thinks.

We've waited, what, basically 2 years for GoT to come back? But then you got the end of the Skywalker Saga, and the beginning of an actual live action Star Wars series?!

I think I'm going to have to go with Star Wars weekend.

part of me is worried they are going to botch these last few episodes. I just hope they have good writing on all of it, cuz some of the stories were pretty weak last time around (specifically sansa and arya)

GoT definitely.

TLJ effectively destroyed my excitement for the end to the skywalker saga. I'm ready for them to move on to something else. I'm sure the trailer will be great and I'm sure I will watch it because it is Star Wars but definitely not on my 2019 bucket list.

The Skywalker Saga ended in 1983. At least in my headcanon.

April is for Endgame, with GoT as a nice "I forgot about that, this is going to be awesome" bonus, and episode 9 is a complete afterthought. Not as a butthurt TLJ hater or anything, just someone who didn't want a new trilogy and hasn't been very swayed by what he's seen so far.
