Just finished watching the 1st season. Pretty good zombie show. It starts soon after the outbreak where everyone is getting ready to evacuate to a "safer" zone.

It's pretty cool how they weave a bunch of it together.

The zombies are more like the zombies from "28 Days Later" than "TWD" zombies.

Overall I enjoyed it and hope they make a season 2.

I binged it all last night save for the finale. Couldn't stop watching.

I always get bummed with how quickly TWD and even FTWD moved out of the initial "holy S something is happening" / "the government will save us" / "how do we kill these things" / "we have to save ourselves" stages of the outbreak while humanity / normal ethics fall off a cliff stages.

It takes just a few episodes then all of a sudden everyone is a pro at avoiding / killing the Z's and it becomes a human -vs- human drama while the Zeeks take a backseat.

Thats why I LOVE the World War Z book - it's all short stories about the living dead and how different people realized what was going on and somehow made it through. This series feels similar so far.

Still need to watch the finale - but the first 7 episodes we're fire!

Just finished it. The episode with the soldiers/rave was a little weird but the others were solid.

Let's waste all the gas we and they do have by racing down the highway chasing someone for hours and then crash our working vehicle into thiers until neither work any more. Great plan.

I ended my binge last night with the lord of the flies episode. I was gonna post pretty much the same thing this morning. What an absolutely dumb and unbelievable plot (and spare me the "it's a Zombie movie so you have to suspend disbelief" crap.
And I hope there's more to the black truck thing than just the characters theory that they wanted their gas because yeah, that was handled really poorly too.
Otherwise, I'm enjoying it so far.

All that and the people in the van just seemed to keep driving in circles in the same neighborhoods. Someone in that freaking van that lived in that town would've known how to get to the stadium. GTFO of the neighborhoods and hit some main roads or the highway.

Yes they run/sprint after you. If you're not in shape, you're food. And those of you talking about the black truck episode, have you not seen the rave episode? That was way more of a WTF episode for me. I figured black truck was like Road Warrior so didnt really mind that one.

I've watched some of Z Nation but I didn't like it as much as Black Summer. Z Nation has more of a comedic appeal to it. Black Summer is a lot more serious and a lot less talking.

I just watched episode 4 and that one was worth watching. None of the WTF moves by a character and scary as hell at times.

Is that the show that had a baby zombie?

Binged it all last night. Enjoyed it, but the underground rave? WTF? But over all good show. My nitpicking complaint is the Soldiers and it stems from having been in the Army but for FFS can theynot get people to wear uniforms right? The damn collar is horrible and no one wears it flipped up.

Also finished it last night. There were tons of incredibly ridiculous scenarios in that show, but I still enjoyed it. It actually reminded me of a video game with real actors. The downtown scenes where everyone came out of the woodwork with guns? Holy stray bullets Batman.

The underground rave was totally WTF? But I liked how that episode showed everyone's point of view. Was very entertaining.

Ok I really liked the story point of view aspect of it. Like someone said it reminded me of WWZ in a way. Curious if they do a second season I would probably watch it as well.

Yes and they aren't like WD Zombies that go down easily and have squishy heads. These are more like rabid dogs and you have to pretty much empty a clip in them to make them stop.

Like anything to do with zombies, I was in. It does drive me crazy how dumb people are in these shows. You know damn well that a headshot kills a zombie and they continue to shoot the body.

Oh, and I did watch all the seasons of Z nation. It was very campy, and the scenarios were ridiculous, but it was ok. They had a few actors that I've actually seen in other shows/ movies so that helped.

I seem to remember from World War Z the book, that one of the stories was a Soldier who talked about how hard it was to go from being taught to aim center mass all your life/military career and then suddenly be expected to become expert headshots.

* He was at the Battle of Yonkers in the book. Man I wish the movie followed the book. That would have been awesome. It was nice to see all the folks with guns just randomly spraying lead everywhere. Very true to what a mob with guns would be like.

For the life of me I can't figure out why the people getting chased run into a building and keep leaving the door wide open behind them. The zombies seem to be unable to figure out how a doorknob works so it would be simple enough to shut the door, twist the lock if there is one, and then figure out a plan while the zombie bangs on the door.

Well that one that was following Lance into the book store figured it out because it was stuck in the vestibule from what I remember. I guess pulling it hard enough works too...

I liked it even though I wanted Lance to die the entire time.

In all of these post zombie apocalypse shows the survivors all fight each other for gas but they never show them siphoning gas from underground storage tanks at gas stations. The pump intakes inside underground storage tanks sit 4-6 inches off the bottom of the tank to prevent debris and water getting into the lines. For a 10,000 gallon tank that is between 180-300 gallons of fuel sitting on the bottom and you just need a hose length of 10-15 feet long to get to it.

Always have plenty of hose and a manual pump handy next to your bugout bags.

I really liked the delivery with overlapping scenes. I thought the Diner situation was a little long and the blue-eyed heavy set was an incredible moron. I liked the ending and the end people.

This show pissed me off. Lance was an idiot the whole time and the driving scenes were also god awful (acting and animation). 3/10 not worth the watch.

Lots of dumb moments for him for sure but why did the skinny blonde lady decide to pick him up and carry him out of the rave building when an army of zombies were attacking people? If you have to make a fast break why would you weigh yourself down with a guy you don't know with an injured leg that can barely walk?

Also when she and Lance meet up with what's left of the group people look at him and ask "is that who I think he is?" And the other nods. Was Lance some kind of celebrity before the zombie attack?

I think they just assumed he didnt make it out of the school and that's why he said that.

The incessant segmentation drove me nuts...it did nothing for the show. And the second they got into the stadium, all the outside noise (jets, explosions, gunfire, screams) just disappears?!? Show was all right, but B grade even by Netflix standards, in my book.

Bump for Season 2

I just stumbled across this show and was blown away by the first episode. It felt like it was only 10 minutes long instead of close to an hour, and I was glued to the screen the whole time. And the 2nd episode was even better.

This is what the Walking Dead should have been.

Yes, there are some great episodes. Season 2 has a GREAT one
