Looking to surprise my girlfriend with Jonas Brothers tickets in San Antonio or Dallas coming up in September (25-27th range). I see that it says tickets haven't 'officially' released yet, but I can buy them on all the mobile ticket sites, etickets.com, vividseats, seatgeak, etc... my question is should I buy them now, or wait for the prices to drop (if that happens at all). I guess I am asking, from yall's experience when is the best time to buy these kinds of concert tickets? Thanks and Gig'em!

Just wait for the official sale.

Is it your girlfriend or your daughter that wants to go?

My advice would be:
1) Explore any rewards programs/privileges you may have access to from credit cards, etc. as these sometimes have access to exclusive presale tickets, tickets blocks, etc.
2) Buy via the official release if you can access early

If those fail then I would go the 3rd party route. But with the fees most charge I always try to avoid this option if possible.
Thanks & Gig 'Em

I see what you did there! While it wouldn't be my first choice of Artist to support financially, I think the 2006 nostalgia bug got the best of her!

Ah good advice, I may look into that. I bank with Bank of America, maybe they offer something. Also, are you saying wait till the official release date cause it may be cheaper?

Ha! My 16 year old daughter sent a message in all caps to my wife yesterday with "JONAS BROTHERS ARE HAVING A CONCERT IN HOUSTON ON SEPT 26... I HAVE TO GO!"

My daughter did she has some access to buying early through some fan club website on May 6th.

From my experience with Rolling Stone tickets (and other concert/shows) on ticketmaster, some of it may apply here.

1. Get a fan club presale OR Look into getting American Express. Both gave you early access to tickets. American Express had a special section of decent seats.
2. Make a point of getting in the online queue as soon as you can the day of
3. Expect the site to be bogged down, if the site is not working on your PC, then try your phone
4. Ticketmaster scalps their own tickets by flagging them as premium or packaging them with some free stuff. So getting in early doesn't mean you will get the best seats, but rather the better seats at the level you are willing to pay.
5. If it looks like the tickets in the section are sold out, just keep reloading the page. A lot of people put them in the cart, but don't actually pull the trigger so they get released (I got front row, middle balcony Hamilton tickets in Austin the other day like 8 hours after they went on sale).
6. If you think this will be an in demand show the cheapest time to buy will be the day they go on sale, and the day of the show.
7. If you know the lay out of the stadium look at some of the obstructed view seats, sometimes those are still good seats.

Yes. The tickets sold through the box office will be cheaper. All the tickets that you are seeing are going to be higher than face value, you also run the risk of these 3rd party tickets being fake.
