Heard that riff today and for a second I thought INXS was playing on Octane.


I didn't hear BoW at all when I heard it. Overall it's pretty different. It has the 4th to major 3rd like black or white does, but the down beat is a half measure off, doesn't have the second half of the riff that BoW has, and is in a different key (well the intro is anyway.. it does switch to key of E when vocals come in)

yeh this is a slightly different sounding volbeat. Though they had a pretty straight forward pop sound on the song 'heaven nor hell'.
This is losing the rockabilly/punky sound for a more streamlined one.

It's like Slipknot going to pop music

This slipshack mash up is genuinely good... and it takes it to 11 at 2:15 mark.

I'm a big, big Volbeat fan but the song released today isn't my favorite. Really hoping the new album is more Leviathan than this one.

Oh, who am I kidding, I'll probably still listen another 4 or 5 times tonight.

Weird. If you'd played me that song without showing me who it was and asked me what band it is I don't think i'd have ever come with Volbeat.

I don't know.. Michael could sing lullabies performed by a jazz band and I'm pretty sure I could identify his voice instantly.

Agreed. Very first line I would be able to tell even if I had no idea it was them. I'm not sure there's anyone else that sings like that

hah, yeh listening back to it now, if I heard the first line "I'm in a lion's cave".. I'd think right away... that sounds like dude from volbeat..
