GOT with 32 Emmy nominations

Bad writing aside, what did some of these actors even do to earn a nomination? Lena pretty much just stood on a balcony drinking wine and not even sure what Sophie did.
At least maise was a focal point and the male actors nominated for best supporting actor at least had moments you can point to.

Every show/series that ends "earns" more nominations that year than it rightfully deserves. Such is the way of award presentations.
Maisie Williams needs to win.

Sounds like Return of the King winning best picture even though Fellowship of the Ring was the better movie. Lifetime achievement award.

Alfie Allen got nominated for GOT and was barely in the last season and Brian Cox wasn't nominated for Succession, that is ludicrous. I'm as big a GOT fan as anyone, but the number of nominations they got was laughable for this season.
Also, Succession is more of a comedy than a drama, but I guess that went over the voters' heads.

Again, this is the final season, so they're getting everyone in there that should have earned nominations or wins and haven't.
It's doubtful he'll win, but he has been amazing in the whole series since the Reek turn in Season 2 or whichever it was.

If we judge things only by the very end, we're almost always going to be disappointed.

Alfie Allen and Melisandre had to nominate themselves as well - her for guest role. She could win that, I love that scene with her, Arya, and the Hound.
The guy who plays Sam should have gotten a nom for the scene where Crazy Queen mentions - oh hey, I torched your family. His physical ating in that scene is phenomenal.
Her getting knighted was, I thought, the most moving scene this season.
Agree. There wasn't much memorable dialogue this season (other than unintentional comedy). But Brienne and Sam probably had the best moments for serious, non-cringe dialogue. HBO and the Davids were trying for the easiest routes by nominating bigger stars.

The season had terrible writing. Not sure how anyone gets best actor/actress giving half the season was pitch black and they were fed terrible lines.
