I've avoided all spoilers with one exception.....

Red Wedding is ****ed up....


After watching just the first episode learned a few things....

1. Peter Dinklage is funny and I will enjoy him
2. Aquaman is in it
3. When your mother tells you to stop climbing......
4. Seriously.....don't get attached to any character in this.....the way that episode ended had me and my wife going "WTF?"
5. Get used to looking up Wikipedia after each episode cause of so many names being thrown my way....or watch with subtitles on

I don't think anyone will disagree how awful the Dexter ending was. All time awful. But for me personally, thrones was more disappointing to me because I enjoyed that show more than Dexter.

I loved the ending OP.

They should have just made Season 8 a choose your own adventure to satisfy everyone's ending expectations

I would be interested to hear the opinion of the last season by someone who watched the whole series within a few months. i can see it being much more palatable in that format.

I had a coworker who did just that. He finished fairly soon after the series finale aired. He had a lot of the same issues that most people did with the ending, starting with the journey north of the wall to capture a wight.His complaints weren't as intense since his viewing was so condensed and felt like he missed out a little bit by watching it that way. Interestingly, he did the same with The Americans and had a much stronger reaction to that ending.

That's interesting to hear. I mainly wonder because I did the Lost series all in about a month and though I was disappointed with the ending, I wasn't nearly as upset over it as the people that watched it as it aired. I was more ok with it.

Dexter took it's ball and went home after season 4. Disappointing ending? More like....longest drawn out television show death ever.

Plus you have some book readers who have nearly 15 years of theories that may or may not have panned out posting here. Even if you haven't read the books, you have likely heard these theories. If someone is going in truly blind, I wonder how that affects their perception of it.

to be fair, the end result wasn't that bad. the final chapter to get there was just such a let down in relation to the rest of the show.
