Top Gun - You Lost that Lovin Feeling

I don't know about the rest of you, but it made 60's music and specifically the Righteous Brothers very cool to us 80's kids.

I have at least five Righteous Brothers songs on my phone and have for years and listen to them often. Because of Top Gun.

Though its hard to say if the Apocalypse Now 'reinvented' the song, I always mentally default to visuals from Vietnam or helicopters flying when hearing Ride of the Valkyries. Same thing when hearing O'Furtuna from Carmina Burana; Fantasia's interpretation is just so good.

As for a reinventing, I'll go with Where's My Mind from Fight Club

I wonder if the PIxies would have have the 00s comeback success if that song hadnt been used.

I loved that song before Wayne's World but ever since that day when I hear that song I do the little Garth air drumming move he made in the car.

I can't watch the video at work to see if it's really Jessie's Girl but the song from that movie is Sister Christian by Night Ranger that is playing during the gunfight scene.

Both are played.

Sister Christian (which also is forever changed for me) is when they first arrive and start their drug deal. Then, the tape flips over and Jessie's Girl starts.

I could have (should have) said both songs, but Jessie's Girls intro definitely has a more sinister tone to me now after this movie.

It's crazy how many of the soundtrack songs have been featured in major ad campaigns in the last couple of years. I'm sure that's happened before, but this is the first time I guess I've really been paying attention to the phenomenon.

He also gets a lyric wrong.

Boogie Nights is ALL I think about when I hear Jessie's Girl. I guess I've just seen it a bunch of times.
