Oops. Downton Abbey.

Saw it last night. Haven't watched the TV series. Having spent some time the UK, I found the subtleties of British humor and perspective on royalty to be spot on. Irritating that Hollywood continues to shove an irrelevant gay story into every script - this one included. Other than that, it was a great show.

The gay subplot was in the story from the beginning.

Thomas, the gay guy, started off as a villain, but morphed over the years into a more sympathetic character.

I haven't seen the movie.

Title of the movie, which is based on a television series, is not spelled correctly in the title.

An abbey is a communal living space, and for most of British history referred to a religious usage.

My wife is in love with the show.

I think it's well done and well written, but it bores me to tears. I need explosions and monsters and stuff.
