I like it and understand it was telling the story to non Aggies but I thought it missed on a couple of things in the telling of the accident and after.

I imagine many of the families weren't willing to go on camera

Saw it last weekend. Obviously the new material with John Comstock was the most interesting and compelling.

I've never seen anything else from the director, Charlie Minn. Based on the previews of his other works that were shown before13th Man, it looks like he has a very raw, gonzo-style of filmmaking. Taking that into account, I still thought the overall film was very sloppy and amateurish, and not worthy of telling John's story.

But after the screening, Minn and Comstock took questions from the audience. Comstock said that he was happy with the finished product.

Haven't seen it but what's Comstock supposed to say at a screening? "This guy is terrible and he's his film is ****"?

Looking at it from an Aggie perspective there could have been more added but for non Aggies it gave a good presentation of the collapse and Comstock's recovery. However I did find it fragmented a bit that made me think numerous times the documentary was ending
While I completely understand not being able to talk to other parents who were unwilling to speak in camera

Hey, don't let a lack of first-hand or relevant information keep you from thundering in with a jackhole opinion. Comstock wasn't directly asked his thoughts about the movie. He offered them freely when talking about something else. My guess is that if he didn't like the finished product he wouldn't have said anything at all.

FWIW, the reason I mentioned what Comstock said is because his opinion, above all others (including mine), is the most important one. Given what that guy went through, and that he has to relive the worst day of his life indefinitely, if he's happy then I'm happy.
