When I was 10, I absolutely loved that show. The F4U Corsair is one of the best looking fighters ever built.

I seem to recall that the Japanese called the Corsair "Whistling Death" from the sound it made. Black Sheep was indeed one of my favorite shows as well.

You are correct. And related, the Germans referred to the P-38 as the "Forked Tailed Devil".

And when I was your age, Wild Wild West was my must-see TV on Friday nights. I also watched the first season of BBBS, being a WWII aviation buff. I respectfully disagree with you about the Corsair being one of the best looking fighters ever built. Ungainly, awesomely powerful, and lethally effective, yes. but not beautiful. (Granted, this is very subjective.) Spitfire, P-51D, and Bf 109G would be my gold, silver, and bronze for best looking fighters ...

We are poor little lambs, who have lost our way.
Baa, Baa, Baa

Cue the klaxon and to the planes! For a 7 year old kid, this opening was the definition of bad ass.

Ranger fans you're not dreaming! The Rangers are the World Series Champions!

Those gull wings really did it for me, plus the rudder not being some squared off appendage as in the 'Stang...

A truly ugly airplane would be something like the British Fairey Barracuda.
