So after 13 years, Genesis is hitting the road again with shows in the UK and Ireland. Is it safe to assume they're going to come to the US in 2021?
I have a feeling that these shows are going to be primarily comprised of their 80's radio-friendly, commercially-successful hits, with a side of the heavily Collins influenced love ballads. I don't see them digging too deeply into the early era prog rock gems. Which is probably good for a majority of their fans, but will be painful for a number of us as well. Not to mention the fact that Phil will have to spend most of his time singing from a chair, unable to drum full-time. No Steve Hackett. No Peter Gabriel.
But then again, I guess it's better than the alternative.
Genesis Tour 2020
Fun fact:
My first concert was on January 23, 1984 at The Summit in Houston. That band was Genesis. The Mama Tour.
Any Genesis fans out there? Or prog rock in general?
