Quirkle is our newest game. Not really a board game, but it is a lot of fun.

Monopoly deal is a fun, faster version that even kids as young as 8 can probably enjoy. Its fun with more people too. If you have more than 5 people in your living situation, buy two copies of the game.

Apples to Apples and/or cards against humanity if you want to increase your social interaction with your family.

Pandemic is actually a really good game. Get the family to work together on a solution to a common enemy instead of competing and fighting like they may otherwise be doing anyway at this quarantine time.

Betrayal at House on the Hill is pretty fun. I'd say it's fine for teens. Basically, you've got everyone trying to escape the house while one person tries to kill them.

A few we've enjoyed:

  • Settlers of Cataan - Classic, good one to start on if you're looking to go beyond the hasboro type games that everyone knows
Forbidden Island - PvE game where you're trying to escape an island littered with traps
  • Fugitive - 2 player card game where one player is a fugitive laying out hideouts, the other is a marshal trying to catch up. My fiance and I tried it out and played it over and over
  • We Didn't Playtest This At All - Fun card game with really quick sessions and lots of ridiculous moments
  • Exploding Kittens - Card game made by the guy who does the Oatmeal comics. The cards are hilarious, if a bit odd, and the game is about trying to outplay everyone else by screwing them over.
  • Eldritch Horror - Lovecraft-inspired PvE game where you work as a team to prevent the end of the world. This one's a time killer, probably 3 hours per session.

Betrayal is fun, it should be ok for middle schoolers and up. Remember it's not just "escape", there is a chance they become the killer and they want to prey on the others. That's not elementary friendly. Also the non-evil players have to find weapons/artifacts to defeat the killer.

I'm going to say munchkin and its variants just because of its replayability.

If you want something simpler try Mexican train (double 12 dominos). That is playable ages 8-99. It's fun and it's a game everyone can enjoy.

Taught my daughter to play this morning...well at least the rules. Takes time to really learn to play. But it was fun.

Dixit is a fun way to exercise your creative side.
Smash Up is a ton of fun.
If you're into collectible games, Keyforge and Star Wars: Destiny are both excellent.
