I watched this last night for the first time ever and really knew nothing about it because I've never read the book or read up on the movie. Funny in a ludicrous way while being absolutely disturbing. The sheer anger and outrage over someone else's slightly different business card was lol funny. And the fact that he told the detective he was going to have lunch with Cliff Huxtable. Wut?
I guess it's up to the viewer to determine if everything we saw Patrick do actually happened or not. Seems to suggest it didn't. I was also struck by Bale's performance as someone going insane and couldn't help but draw that back to the fact that he played Batman whose main enemy is the most famous psychopath in the Joker. After watching this, Bale could have played a great Joker! He was awesome as usual.
